I was wondering while playing with my own kitty, how are things with you and your Adams? I really hope the little guy is feeling better! :D |

How sweet of you to think of my Adams!!! Thank you from both of us. He is doing extremely well. He's not as aggressive as he was before all this started but... that's not necessarily a bad thing, you know? :-) He just finished his antibiotics and has a recheck appointment tomorrow evening. By Thursday we should have his new blood results and I'm hoping for great news. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for asking. <hugs> |

I know it hurt to say goodbye to your cat, but at least s/he's no longer sick or hurting. But you have another one now, yes? Give her (or him) an extra hug from me. :) |

Hey Cookies! I have an update - Adams blood work from yesterday came out perfect!! PURRRRRR-fect. :-) The vet is stunned. He put it this way - It's like a cartoon where the cat has had enough and it's time to go. He packs his bags and takes 'em to the bus stop. He waits and he waits, thinking about how things were back at home and begins to realize they're not so bad after all. He can handle a little more. Then the bus arrives... and leaves. And there's the cat - still standing at the stop and holding his bags, thinking he's just not willing to leave after all. And so, he turns around and goes back home. Yes, my vet is a bit of a joker, but that's why I love him. :-) And bottom line, my Adams is back home. :-D Thanks for your concern. <hugs> |

Ahh, that's so great to hear! 8=) Tell Adams I say he's a good kitty! And yup I have two new kitties, both are happy and healthy at 4 (And indoor! :P) And... one even understands the word turkey! :D It's awesome to hear stories about animals who overcome sickness :) <hug back> |

He's sick again. The lab results are inconclusive and they're doing another round of tests. The vet is going back to his original diagnosis and thinks the infection Adams had was secondary to the cancer... though where and what kind of cancer it is still remains to be seen. He's hoping for a definitive answer from the lab today. Thing is, Adams stopped eating on Saturday. I've tried all different types of food - even baby food. He's refused it all except for a nibble here and there. As of this morning, he's in the hospital on IV fluids and whatever else he needs, but it doesn't look promising. I'm sick about this. I don't want to give up because he did rebound last time, but since no one can say for sure what's going on, I can't help but be afraid for him. |

I'm going to see his vet tomorrow. Something is nagging at me. I gave him (and my other two cats) Frontline Plus flea control in July. It was the first time any of them had this treatment. Three weeks later is when the first episode of not eating and such started with Adams. The other two - thankfully - were fine (and still are). I postponed the next monthly dose simply because Adams was recovering and seemed to have just escaped death. Well, I did eventually put it on each of them, and now, guess what? It's three weeks later again and he's back in the hospital. That tells me there's just as much of a chance of this being a reaction to the Frontline as it is of being end-stage lymphoma. I'm going to the vet tomorrow to speak to him about this in person. It may be rare for an animal to react this way to a flea control oitment, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. Wish us luck! |

He did so well for so long. So much longer than anyone expected. But then things took a turn and we couldn't let it continue. We didn't have a choice, we knew by last night that today we'd have to let him go. :( |
