I think Queen Productions should do what Mercury Records did in 1995 and re-release every Queen album with remastered sound and tracks that are connected with the albums i.e A Dozen Red Roses For My Darling is connected with A Kind Of Magic as it was a B Side. What I meant by them doing what Mercury Records did in 1995 was because Mercury Records re-released every Elton John album with remastered sound and tracks connected with the albums i.e Philadelphia Freedom was a single in 1975 when Captain Fantastic was released. I think this would be a fantastic idea but what about you what do you think?
Yeah we've tossed this idea round here before. Brian has said that this would not happen.. that whenever they release stuff from the vaults they would NOT make us buy the albums again... but as the decades pass, things change.
I think it's not a bad idea. At least less stress on Greg, trying to put together big box sets. Bonus tracks and/or an extra disc with each album might be a much easier way to do it.
But now we've got this supposed singles collection in the works too.. though it's September already and we haven't heard much more about it yet. Big surprise.
And if the idea of extra discs with the re-released albums was pursued, they could even offer a solution to those who already have the albums. Just show proof in some way and you could by the extra disc for a special price.
Peace,
Adam.

Yeah Brian May, thanks for putting out about a billion versions of ANATO :p. I think Queen and Beatles cds have about the worst "mastering" I've ever heard.

I think the 2004 remasters are pretty good compared to the previous ones. I don't want to buy the albums again for the bonus disc with demos. Please, put all the demos in a seperate box set.
I know a lot of people feel that way [ Wybren™ ]. But I kind of enjoyed buying those card sleeves in 2004. I bought 3 each month and it was fun.. maybe I'm just addicted to buying Queen stuff and love having something to buy. I'm sure this is the mentality they rely on, in order to keep releasing the same stuff repackaged over and over though ;)
Yeah, I'll buy whatever they put out. I always do. I'm not so far gone as to buy every version of everything from every country, but for example I bought Stone Cold Classics just because it was here locally.. right there waiting for me. I knew it was a total rip-off but it was an excuse to buy something else for the collection. Had it been something from another country I wouldn't have bothered.. for example I didn't buy the Japanese 'Jewels' CDs. I got the Teo Torriatte remix on the WWRY single instead. More cost-effective. LOL.
I'm just rambling, sorry. :)
I think the 2005 release of ANATO was the best remaster I've ever heard from them. But I also favour UK 1994 releases. Just represents more of the original.
Peace,
Adam.

Stick to Vinyls my friends, they will never capture the right sound, despite what Mr.May once claimed(Remember his, use the EQ to achieve Vinyl sound theory :p). I agree, the UK releases are the best CDs

I wish I had the vinyl releases. But I don't know what kind of condition they'd be in nowadays. And then I'd need a good player for them too!
But on your Brian comment. Never heard that before, but he did actually say that the dvd-a of ANATO was pretty close to sounding like the vinyl sound and was pretty pleased.
Peace,
Adam.
