No wonder it was only ever a b-side!!!
You're a harsh little fellow aren't you, well I for one love that song, not sure what's meant by sprucing it up, but I always wished it had made the album rather than Coming Soon.

You are talking about A Human Body, not Soul Brother, I hope? :P

I honestly can't stand the vocals. The lyrics are ok, the arrangement is ok, but the vocals are IMHO second only to the Hints-Of-Innuendo demo of Delilah when it comes to horrid.
Fred probably just heard Brian's demo of The Call
(originally penned for inclusion on Hot Space) I guess before entering the studio. Didn't I read he was gonna call it 'Who you gonna call?'but then scrapped it after hearing someone in the next studio recording something similar?

Huey Lewis would have something to say about this.....
i was just trying to say that soul brother in my eyes is a classic track-so please dont bite my head of-if you cant take someones views on what they think is a classic track, well maybe this isnt the place for you?-i dont set myself up as a queen master,i dont say that i am a -i know what i like and soul brother is great-whats wrong with someone thinking that this track or that track is classic?-you should take all peoples views on board and try and be polite to there views-if i offended anyone with my idea of a good or classic track,sorry-but thats life-we all have in our minds what makes a classic track-one man or womens views differ ---so to finish, soul brother is a classic-you dont like it-sue me
Freddie's vocals on Soul Brother are impressive, regardless of the quality of the song. I like it because it sounds like they're having lots of fun. Somebody set somebody the challenge of squeezing in as many Queen song references as possible. I've always found it reassuring somehow when I hear and see them all playing around like this. Fried Chicken.
I'm not sure what all the fuss about Freddie voice is. It's called Falsetto and it's very, very hard to do, Cool Cat.
That's like saying Aaron Neville sucks. How bout 'not my cup of tea', but to say the vocals are terrible???
I'm surprised this hasn't turned into the old debate about it being recorded during 'The Game' sessions, long before Under Pressure. I used to get a big kick out of people thinking that was true. :)
I like the song. It's just fun to listen to what Freddie came up with on such short notice when they needed a b-side :)
