Y'know it isn't all bad. I think Paris is OK. Thats it. Absolutely nothing special. And I laugh at her calling 'Stars Are Blind,' reggae. It's pop. And then we have got the Pussycat Dolls (only one of 'em is a half decent singer, the others just shake their arses behind said singer), Rhiana (absolute BULLcrap)and other shite artists who don't write their own music or have an outstanding voice. They sell on their looks. But then we also have Anastacia, Shakira, Christina Aguilera who are geniunely talented. You may not like that music but give these girls some credit. They are clever and do write and produce their own stuff. And then we have U2, Green Day and Oasis who'll still write stuff until the time 'when they stop buying the records I'll say goodbye and do something else, become a skip artist or something' that is worthwhile. So our generation isn't all bad. Indeed there is a great deal of surprise when someone new and outstanding come out whereas back in the 60's and 70's competition was so fierce you had to be really good. So the music industry doesn't have such high expectations nowadays. But some day (one day) just like Sgt. Pepper's and Bohemian Rhapsody, someone will come along and change music forever and It won't be the same old poppy drivel we are getting now. That's what I believe. |

Oops, a Bob Dylan reference. They should open a myspace website, and become huge due to popularity via downloads, just like Dragonforce, for instance. Once people get to know you, the record deals will be there. Besides, remember how Queen had to fight for their first record deal? It's not necessarily bad to put a lot of effort in getting a deal. But of course it sucks that some people get deals that easy, whereas the real talent has to struggle to survive. |
