Bo Rhap, I think. But of course I had no idea it was Queen. Before I knew what Freddie looked like, I pictured him as a skinny white boy with a severe case of acne. |

i can't recall anymore precisely, as i was eleven when i accidentally walked into this Queen supporing Mott the Hoople show in the congresgebouw, in The Hague, on december 8th 1974, and i never really knew what i was listening to and what song they played first then. But within 3 weeks from that show i saw them again, during the AVRO's TOPPOP recordingsession for the dutch version of the Killer Queen clip. I was there then because my father had to do a radio interview in the same studio unit. So in my case i guess i should say it was Killer Queen i really heared first. But i became a fan because of Bohemian Rhapsody.... |
deleted user 27.08.2006 18:49 |
now that i think more about it, i think the "i want to break free" video was also instrumental in my fandom. |

Well, I guess naturally I heard We Will Rock You all the time at sports events, but I didn't know who the artist was at first so I guess the real song I heard and knew it was by Queen was You're My Best Friend! I was seven and watching "America's Funniest Home videos" and they were playing it while showing a bunch of funny dog clips. My Dad started singing along and he told me who they were. I didn't really know who Queen was yet until two years later... but I still liked the song. =) |

Aye, that would be Bohemian Rhapsody, properly heard anyways, Then I saw that they had done Rock you AND champions as well (had vaugely heard them before, you know, the legend of the songs, haha) and I thought, well, they MUST be good, then my sister brought home Greatest Hits. |

My first song was "Friends will be Friends" in 1990, it was the music of a TV program (here in Argentina), and I got absolutly amazed by that song, then I realized it was from a band called Queen. Then I bought a Cassette, then is history... |
7 seas of Rhye 27.08.2006 20:53 |
The first time I heard Queen was We Will Rock You and I remember my dad saying, "The guy who sings this died. He was gay." For some reason that just always stuck in my head even though I was like 5. The first time I saw Freddie was when something was on TV about Live Aid and I was like, "He doesn't look like he sings Killer Queen." Then a few years later I saw the BoRhap video and I thought he was scary. But eventually I saw the video clip of Queen in Japan in 1975 and I've loved Freddie ever since! |
Baneé 27.08.2006 21:23 |
Friends will be friends was the first song i could recognize that was made by Queen. Before that i didn´t know what they looked like, so once my uncle was listening to Queen II (that now i realized it was that album) and i used to think it was a group of women :P |

Late in 1977 at the age of 9 coming home from a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game, WWRY&WATC was playing on the radio. My friend & I were making peace signs w/ our fingers out the rear windshield at the cars behind us during WATC. We probablly meant "V" for victory! Didn't know who Queen was, didn't care about modern music at that age. But I remember that clearly. Who knew three yrs. later I'd be getting into Queen & was a full blown fan by my 13th B-day! What a long strange trip.... |

Bohemian Rhapsody was my favorite song that I sang all the time at age 3, according to my family. As an adult, drawing me in for keeps, 'I Want It All' was what captured my attention and sparked my interest. |
