My faveourite Freddie Moment was the Entire Live Aid concert itrs just stunning to watch and Listen |

A backstage clip, where he says: "I've lost my shoes!" gets a roadie to fetch them, and also to put'em on hios feet. Then he says: "I never tie my own shoelaces. I mean, NEVER. It's just not the thing done in rock'n'roll.." Don't remember from which concert, but I'm pretty sure it was 1978 xD |

Okay, I've been trying to hold this back for a long time... it's FAVOURITE not FAVEOURITE! (Unless of course you're American, in which case it's favorite.. which kind of looks better..) but it's never 'faveourite' Hmmmppph.. |

I also agree with you Freddie's Son, Live Aid was one of Freddie's best moments. Queen's too. I loved it when Freddie and Roger sang together just minutes before they were to perform at Wembley. While they did that, Brian was in serious mode with his guitar, tunning it. =) Freddie singing before a Budapest concert. In his yellow track suit. That footage always sends chills down my body. It's amazing. Freddie's moments when he swore to the croweds. Theres so many to even remember off the top of my head. |

(this is from queenonline in the history section) "Virtually everyone who came into with Freddie Mercury in the late 1960's tells the same story. Take Chris Smith, a fellow student of Freddie's at Ealing College, for instance "Right from the start, before he'd even joined a band, Freddie would say, 'I'm going to be a pop star, you know.' I remember walking into the West Kensington pub in Elsham Road one day and Freddie was there' he replied. with his head in his hands. 'What's the matter with you? I asked. 'I'm not going to be a star, I said, 'You've got to be a star, you've told everyone. You can't let them down now. Come on'. And then he stood up, put his arms in the air and said, 'I'm not going to be a star. I'm going to be a legend!"" i also love this moment:) link |

So far, the interview-snippet included in Live at Wembley where he says something about "I just love life" and how his stage-person is an act and how he's "boring". Or the snippets where he was saying they had already musically surpassed Bohemian Rhapsody - because I didn't know it was his voice at the time (since I hadn't really heard him talk before) but I professed undying love to that voice for saying that. |

the picture of you with "mr. michael jackson" that is in your added link, is you with a look-a-like. I even think i have seen this guy live at the london 2002 "killer thriller party" where i was with michael jackson. I believe it is the nr 1 impersonator from Italy, when i look at certain details (glove). He is very very good, and i have him on film (filmed by myself) together with michael jacksn. You can NOT tell the difference, other than the quality of the materials worn by michael. Michael made the statement against sony music then and his speech was a ferocious one! But on your picture, it is NOT michael jackson himself. I am sure about that. Been with the man in the same tiny narrow little space for 8 days, and have 1.5 hours on film. I gave him back the recordings of him and freddie. and there's dozens of witnesses of that event, including the dutch presidente of the michael jackson fanclub and sven hoogerhuis from cyberimage, who's brian may picture is in the queen and paul rodgers booklets. |

I like the one interview where he explains why he "butched" himself up. He says something to the effect of "If I had the long hair and the fingernails and everything now, it'd look ridiculous...well, it looked ridiculous THEN, but at least it worked!" and then laughs. I think that's my favorite Freddie moment, non-musically speaking. I also like how he sort of puts his hand up over his mouth as he laughs. I think I read somewhere that he did that a lot because he was embarassed by his teeth. Seems rather charming somehow. |

Freddie smiling/laughing after he sings "I still love you" in the TWTDOOL video. Also Wembley Empire Pool 1978 when he said - Im not going to say anything bad about the press tonight - they're a load of f**king wa*kers!! |

I love Freddie at Live Aid. That performance is breathtaking. As is TATDOOL but in a different way. In interviews I always loved that as he nearly always said something quotable 'I can't cook... I'm not very good at being a housewife...' 'I don't regret it, I mean what did you look like 10 years ago?' 'When they stop buying the records I'll say goodbye and do something else, become a skip artist or something.' And I could go on and on. I just adore Freddie full stop. |

Overall, you just can't top Live Aid. The world's biggest concert ever(still), all the top acts of the time, and he single-handedly steals the show(okay, Brian, Roger and John helped some). Live: 1. Live Aid 2. Earl's Court and Houston '77 'The Prophet Song' vocal solos. 3. "Day O" various vocal solo bits. Studio: 1. In The Lap... Revisited. 2. The Prophet Song 3. Save Me 4. Guide Me Back 5. In My Defence 6. My Melancholy Blues 7. Soul Brother 8. Somebody To Love 9. Man Made Paradise 10. The March of the Black Queen Public: 1. His infamous word exchange with the Sex Pistols.(what a hilarious story of his) |

Again, I am reviving an elderly thread, but, am new here, and, enjoying so much of what I am reading! I share most of your appreciation for the Freddie moments listed here, and, have a few of my own, which I will narrow down to musical one liners, since they are, perhaps, what first endeared me to Queen, and, subsequently, Freddie. Every hear a line in a song that is sung in such a way as to touch something inside of you? The Goosebump Factor, I suppose? Not so much the lyric, but, they way the melody is delivered at that precise moment? Here are a few of those moments from Freddie: "I've been with you such a long time You're my sunshine And I want you to know That my feelings are true I really love you " "Too late, my time has come Sends shivers down my spine, body's aching all the time Goodbye, ev'rybody, I've got to go Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth " "To avoid complications She never kept the same address In conversation She spoke just like a baroness Met a man from China Went down to Geisha Minah Then again incidentally If you're that way inclined " Then, there is a part in AOBTD, not so much a line, but, where he sings, "Yeaaaaaheeeeeaheeeeeaheeeeeyeaaheeeeeahhh...." that gives me goosebumps. So many really; too many to cover here, completely. |
