I figured sites like amazon.com would have them for pre-order by now but alas they don't. Only thing I found was the CD available as an import (for over $30.)
I would have thought that at least the best of CD would come out here.
If any of it is releasing here, it must be at a much later date. We'd have pre-orders by now for the early Sept. releases, as you said.
I ordered the 2-disc Best Of from HMV because the Japanese version is releasing slightly early (Aug. 30). link
Mine came to about $28 shipped but that's with 100 members points I used on it, I think it almost paid for the shipping.
However, their DVD is delayed until mid November which is a hell of a delay! link
I did see an NTSC version from Hong Kong listed at CD Universe..
Ha! Actually check out their Freddie listings.. they have imports at much more reasonable prices! link
Now they don't usually list PAL DVDs so maybe even the UK version of the DVD is gonna be NTSC.. that seems to be happening more and more lately...
Meanwhile, I can't find any mention of the book/audio book anywhere.
I was going to order the dvd and cd set combo from queenonline- but living in the states- just wondering if the DVD will play here- does anyone know if this is regionf ree?

Well, we won't know for sure until someone gets a copy. In contrast to my previous post, CD Universe has now removed the UK version DVD from their listings.. but the Hong Kong one remains (twice actually). That one should be NTSC but personally I don't trust Chinese products for officialness and quality..
The official Japanese DVD will be NTSC but it's not coming until November 15 for some reason.
They should all be region free, just as the original Untold Story and video collections were, but with Queen Productions anywhere near them, the potential for fuck-ups is very high ;)
It is my understanding that the Freddie DVD, CD and book definitely ARE being issued in the USA.
It was certainly mentioned. I sent certain product to Hollywood Records, so based on that I am fully expecting a HR release. I have not been told otherwise.

That would be great Greg. I certainly hope so.. but they apparently aren't going to make any birthday deadlines because nothing has been announced or is available to pre-order here yet.
Can you tell us if the UK DVDs are at least region-free? PAL is still alright for many of us but regions can be a pain. I've already ordered mine from amazon.co.uk anyway though :)
Availability: THIS TITLE IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. If you would like to purchase this title, we recommend that you occasionally check this page to see if it has become available
Amazon.co.uk has REMOVED their listing for the DVD. And my pre-order there has become unlinked. This along with CD Universe removing theirs makes me wonder if there isn't a problem.. and HMV having theirs listed as releasing November 15.
Meanwhile, HMV does list the UK version and says it's NTSC and region free, but the QOL shop says it's PAL.
So WTF is going on?
PS- At least the Japanese CD set did make it out on time. Mine will be here tomorrow :)
I received my CD on 8/31 which is a Parlophone. If this isn't planned to be released in the USA, contact me, i will make sure you all get one, somehow. :)

Well if Hollywood Records are going to continue dragging their feet in releasing them, they will no doubt lose sales to the fans that have ordered theirs from overseas. I've already ordered the 2 CD "best of" and I won't be buying a duplicate.
Nobody seems to care that there's apparently a problem with the DVD. Amazon UK has removed it completely from their listings.. no way to order it there now. I've written them to find out what happened and whether my pre-order will ship or not.
Don't you think it's a little odd that a retailer as huge as Amazon, in the home country of release has removed the listing?
Thank you all for your concern. This was my reply from Amazon.co.uk:

Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience, but "Freddie
Mercury-Lover of Life" appears to have been a surprise sellout.
When you placed your order, we believed we had access to more copies -
we then discovered that every one of our distributors had rapidly
sold out.
However we received your copy of the item from our suppliers and we
were able to dispatch it to you.
We still expect to dispatch your order by the date listed in Your
Account: September 04, 2006.
Does this really make sense? It sells out so they remove the listing page completely? LOL. Just try to find it there and see what I mean :-P
brianmay.com is saying Hollywood Records will release the CD and DVD in the US in October. No specific release date nor does it mention if the CD will be the single disc or 2 disc set. I'm assuming the DVD set will be identical to the UK release (doc, videos.) I didn't see any mention of the book being released here though.

Thanks for the info Michael!
I havent had time to check Bri's soapbox in a few weeks.
I'm looking forward to it. Although, it would have been nice to have the release for his birthday, but beggars cannot be choosers im afraid!
Cheers...
