I was just wondering to myself today, what other bands do Queen fans like? I'm always eager to listen to something a bit different, thought this would be a good way.
No point in putting obvious bands, the ones that are always lumped in with Queen. At the moment I'm liking Wolfmother.
Also, any Queen fans in bands of thier own? Id be interested in listening to your stuff too.
I just joined a band, we are awesome, we are a band with he absence of lead guitar

I'm not. But my dad is in a band. He plays rythm guitar and is part time vocalist. They've covered Blondie, The Beatles, Queen, Led Zepplin, Green Day and Nirvana to name but a few
I do a bit of drumming. Not in a band at the moment. Use to cover bands like Oasis, U2(not my choice!), Verve etc.
I'm listening to the new Muse CD right now - got to say it's excellent, definite Queen influence in there too.

I saw a brilliant band the other night called Phoenix. The singer/bass player was talking to me and said he would have done some Queen stuff, but there's no way he can match up to Freddie. He even told me they'd invite me up on stage to play with them next time they come. Don't know how true it is though.
The ones who influenced Queen (Rolling Stones, Led Zep, the Beatles, Hendrix to name but a few)
Bowie, Green Day, U2, Roxy Music, Ultravox Rainbow and Thin Lizzy all appear on my Ipod and are listened to constantly

Some think I am nuts, but Rufus Wainwright is the closest thing to Queen since, for me. He doesn't rock out as much, but his writing is parrallel in many ways to Freddie's.
To each his/her own, but as far as my opinion's concerned, Rufus Wainwright is the 2nd coming of Freddie.
