Well, thanks for uploading all those! I have now listened to most of them, and can appreciate how much easier it probably is these days on a computer, with the varying array of effects, editing and equalising tools which are now available. I don't mean, in any way, to be condescending, but I don't really wish to comment on each mix, because, with respect, today's standards are so much higher, it wouldn't really be fair to offer critique on work done so long ago, with the limited facilities of that time. Hope that's acceptable, and many thanks again, for sharing them with us.
Hey no problems!
At the time they were originally done they were very well received on Ross Robertsons site.
They cater for people who, like myself, don't like Queen's music messed about with, with stuttered lyrics and dance beats over the top.
If these mixes prompt other people to create their own or even re-make these to have seamless joins with no EQ discernability, then that's great!
Technically they aren't perfect, but there are some good ideas there that hopefully don't jar at some point and make the listener go "eugh, that didn't work".
It just shows that you can create something good that's simple to make (Though I would say that cause I made 'em!).
These are some fucking sweet mixes...even by today's standards as far as I'm concerned...I haven't seen or heard of anybody try to mix things like Ride the Wild Wind or things like that yet, so hats off to you Pootle!! Not bad at all for 8 years ago!! :)
