I recently got an email from Bart telling me that one of my old remixes from 8 years ago(!!!) was on this month's podcast - so I thought I'd come and have a look on this forum.
The result is that I'm going to upload a number of my (in my opinion) better remixes for you all to share.
They'll all be on rapidshare.
First off is my Mr Bad Guy remix that I did 5 years ago.
For information purposes, I like to keep things simple (mainly because most of my original mixes were done by having 2 tracks on my old minidisc recorder and just chopping bits out and re-editing!), so what you'll get from me are tracks that lose vocals at various points because I made heavy use of the instrumentals that are widely available now.
There are other tracks though, that took a bit of remixing on the computer - like Mr Bad Guy.
Basically, it's the instrumental version, with the demo laid over the top....
Enjoy! link link
yes.
Very simple - but I prefer remixes like that.
I've heard loads of remixes over the years that have a lot of potential, but then the mixer tries to be clever and ruins it with something jarring that doesn't work!
My stuff is just taking what Queen etc did and mixing or cutting new versions together.
I just know I'm going to hate most of those remixes on the new Freddie album...
Sorry Guys,
I've looked at megaupload and it's only letting me upload at a rate of 16mb/s, whereas Rapidshare lets me upload at twice that.
Rapidshare it is....
It's a neat idea. In fact I did one a couple years ago with the original, instrumental bits, and one verse done like this.. demo over instrumental just to give it a surprise extra verse.
I think yours works alright.. but when the demo first comes in it's sure noticeable and louder, and over time it starts to have a 'doubled' sound for going slightly out of sync. Still a good idea though and works well enough to demonstrate the idea :)
