Depends on how familiar you are with Podcasts/blogs and the big pants the kids seem to wear these days.
Podcasts are a subscription service with semi-regularly-updated "episodes."
These episodes are basically half-hour-long audio, with multiple songs during that half hour, optionally with some dialog by the author of the episode.
I've taken remixes that the flossfm/qfm community has done before and compiled them into two episodes so far. I've solicited you guys for some Freddie remixes for the upcoming September episode.
On this page, under each episode, you have the option of playing them directly from the browser (the green button with the play triangle), downloading them (the link "Download" to the right of the green button), or just subscribing to the service as a whole.
I find it's best to download iTunes, and then on these pages, find the pretty "subscribe via iTunes" button, and just press that. That way, each time you open up iTunes, it'll check the subscription service for new stuff, and automatically download it.
I realize the favored way of delivering remixes on here is rapidshare, and that's cool. If people like individual songs from the Podcast and request a copy, I can upload those.
This is just a trendy new (well, as of several years ago) way to deliver music to people.
I presume you have to register for this, as I can't see a green download link anywhere. It's all a bit too 'youth' for me. How the hell do they get their trousers to stay at 'half mast' anyway?
Lord F, you dont have to register to download these files.
here is the first of the two files on there
Greatest Hits XCIV link
Dont Try Podicide link
Let me know if these work, ok?

There's a download link near the bottom of each post where you can get each podcast.
Thanks Mr Mercury, Suigi, for helping out.
I've posted a mini-tutorial at: link
Hope it helps!
By the way...
I'm still trying to figure out a way for each mix to be rated individually -- I know the myspace player has something like that, but after hearing Barcelona belch at me on Freddie's "official" page, I'm not terribly optimistic about it. Any ideas?
Lord Fickle -- <fawlty>you'll have to forgive podOmatic, they're new</fawlty>
I've seen that occasionally.
I totally understand the resistance to registering on things and downloading things and <ahnold>things of that nature.</ahnold>
I'm trying to reach out here -- If you're just not into it, say so, and I'll back off, otherwise I can rapidshare the two 'casts I've done so far for you.
Oops! You've found a bug. We've logged an error message and promise to fix it as quickly as possible.
Please return to the home page and try again.
Guess it must just be me!
Ok heres the first song "Greatest Hits XCIV" link
Dont Try Podicide link
Ern2150, I hope you guys dont mind me posting this stuff on Rapidshare - I know you said you were gonna do it. However if you do then let me know and I'll delete the files from rapidshare, ok?
That's cool (Mr M posting the shows on rapidshare).
As a lazy person, I like the idea of Podcasts 'cos I don't have to remember to visit each page to check up on new stuff, it just comes to me :)
Thanks for uploading them. I prefer the first one, to the more 'dance' flavoured 'Podicide' mix, and I particularly liked Ride The Wild Wind (parts of which I hadn't heard before), and RT's Heartland (ALL of which I hadn't heard before) - is that Sir Brian on vocals? What a great song - would like to hear the original of that.

That's just the 'The eYe' version ;)
My (old) RTWW mix has those parts too.
I don't understand why this version has to be faster and higher(pitched up)??.

Heartland details (lemme know if there's a more consolidated official/fan source for this): link
Not sure how "official" it is, but here's the original: link

Ah yes, I keep forgetting 'The eYe' stuff, and it's a while since I've heard your mix, Dan. ;)
