Ive heard of a few famous bands/singers to play a show with a full orchestra behind them, being metallica, elton john, meatloaf etc.
I think this would be a great thing for the current "Queen" band to try next.
It would add a fantastic depth to their songs, and make it possible to play songs which they wouldnt have played live otherwise.
Any thoughts on this?
Matt.
There are several CD's around with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra doing some Queen stuff. Some of these tunes work out real well. If Queen were doing something like that, it could turn out quite nice as well ;)
We haven't had Freddies live vocal for 15 years unless you hadn't noticed.
I think that Paul Rodgers or Roger Taylor are more than able to take the lead vocal in any of Queens repertoire.

no
not in any, but at least in some. i'd at least give it a chance :)
I usually appreciate the fusions between rock bands and orchestras.
I think that no other band is more "classical" and "orchestral" than Queen.
Still... It is a project that easily comes out wrong and hardly comes out the right way.
If I were them, colossal as it would be in theory, I would not risk it...
