Hell ya about sums up this concert. JSS was fan freaking tastic with Journey's catalogue. He looked great, sounded great, and gave an awesome show. Def Leppard sounded SO good I was unsure if Joe was really singing or not since the VH1 Rock Honors show kinda stunk. I'm still not sure but it looked like to me he was really singing and giving it his all. I had a GREAT time at the show AND.....right before Def Leppard came on, guess what was played???????? Guess......come on guess..... WWRY...ya, so of course all my friends braced themselves for me to start acting like a retard. I didn't disappoint. The beer was good and cold, the place was packed and the music kicked ass. Good times, you can't beat it. The only thing that sucked was waiting two hours in the parking lot to get out. Also the line to use the girls bathroom was waaaaay too long so I ran in the men's bathroom to use it. I've neve rin my life seen such disgusting brown stuff on a floor. Is that usually on the floor in the men's room? It was gross but well worth it, I had to pee so bad it hurt. I got many cheers from the guys inside the men's bathroom and advice to not sit on the toilets, which I did not do. Also, Joe Elliot promised that there would be a next time when they said goodnight. AWESOME!! Now it's time for me to call in sick to work tomorrow because I am still drunk!!! Weeeeeeeeenis :) |

I once went to see Def Leppard. They put on a great live show. What pissed me off is that their fanbase is now older and they're not so willing to stand up during the entire concert. |

My wife went with her friends last night. Joe Elliott uses "help", as it were. Caught that in'03 at a show at the Nutter Arena in Dayton. He's got every trick in the book being used to help out. Jamie also said, to her, JSS was alright, but simply cannot hit the high notes, and went silent at times. |

Also, Riverbend is HORRIBLE! I steadfastly refuse to see a show there anymore that is sold out, or remotely close. The plumbing there can handle a crowd of about 8K, max. The restrooms usually end up with 3 inches of sewage on the floor by the end of the night of a packed house. They really need. over a winter, to build a new line of "facilities" at the back of the place, opposite the wall that is behind the lawn. They also need to tear off the roof, and re-do it the right way, instead of sloping down with the massive pillars everywhere. Parking is also a joke, in terms of getting in, and getting out. Typical Cincinnati, though. Half-assed. The place worked when I was young, drunk, stoned, and didn't know any better.....not anymore. |

The bathrooms had inches of piss and shit on them. If I hadn't had so much to drink I probably would have held it but there was no way. I had to go go go!!! JSS sounded very good to me but Journey's drummer was the one hitting most of the high notes I thought. I might be wrong. It was no Queen concert for sure but I was pretty impressed with the lighting. It doesn't even come close to a Queen light show but who does? The whole lawn was on their feet so that was good. It took us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot. It was ridiculous. We were playing Name that Tune with our car horns. |

I was looking at some Journey albums last week, as a matter of fact. Interesting that the late 70's early 80's stuff was produced by Roy Thomas Baker, and Mike Stone...... In order to get out, you need to know where to park. The first lot on the right, as you come in, when you drive by the lake is the WRONG place to park, if you wish to ever get out. Park in the lot by the racetrack, and you get out prety fast, turn right, and hit the highway from there. |

The longest that Erin and I waited to get out of a concert was for Bon Jovi in Charlotte, NC. I think we were the last car out :-) The only ampitheater I have been to is in Charlotte also. It sucks. Unless you have seats near the stage you cannot see shit. |

The Cincinnati Po Po was directing traffic...mistake numero uno right there. |

Lisser wrote: JSS sounded very good to me but Journey's drummer was the one hitting most of the high notes I thought. All the more reason why they shouldn't have severed ties with Steve Perry. Did DC (Drums) NS (Gtr) JC (Keys) and RS (Bass) sing their songs from the Generation album? Those were bad tunes, but the drummer can sing a little bit. Still, THE VOCALIST should be hitting ALL the notes. BOTTOM LINE: JSS can't sing for Queen or Journey... Maybe they can dig up the guys from Survivor or something! Haystacks Calhounski wrote: I was looking at some Journey albums last week, as a matter of fact. Interesting that the late 70's early 80's stuff was produced by Roy Thomas Baker, and Mike Stone......Yes, after first being fired by Queen, then Yes attempted a session with Roy that ended up splitting the band up (again). Those were the pre-Drama sessions. Somehow, Ol' Roy & Mike ended up producing the best Journey albums. |

If you take 275 north towards Beechmont, take the exit before 5 mile south down to 50, turn right, you miss most of the heavy traffic, and they put you in the racetrack lot. Remember that next time. Mucho better, but still your feet get tempered in raw poo. |

I went to the Def Leppard/Journey concert in the Toyota Pavilion around here this June 30. It was a good show, although it did indeed seem that the acts had plenty of "help" here and there. |

Has bladder control been outlawed in the US or are Def Leppard & Journey playing 4 hour shows each? |
Haystacks Calhoun II 26.07.2006 17:27 |
The draft beer gives you the wee wees....especially once you break the seal. I try not to drink too much at shows, as i hate to spend quality concert time standing in line to pee. Of course, I usually just piss my pants. |

Penetration_Guru wrote: Has bladder control been outlawed in the US or are Def Leppard & Journey playing 4 hour shows each?I had multiple draft beers but usually I can hold it. I couldn't hold it last night and the line for the women's bathroom was a mile long so I ran in the men's room and told them all to hide their willies bc I was coming in. They didn't seem to mind. The concert started at 730 and I got home at midnight. But it took us almost two hours to get out of the parking lot and I live about 15 minutes from Riverbend. |

The actually came to Belterra casino in Indiana a few months ago, with Mickey Thomas as frontman... Saw the billboards, wouldn't have walked across the street to see it. |
