I actually like early Green Day, but not really their later stuff. My sister is a huge fan so I can't get away from them anyway. I hate... Good Charlotte (they're just trying to be another Green Day anyway), Coldplay (boring shite), Keane (more shite), McFly (teeny-bopper boyband), Blink-182 (more shit), Kaiser Chiefs can get a bit annoying if you overplay them... and loads of others. I know they've been around since the 80s but I've always loathed Guns N' Roses too (though I'll probably get slaughtered for saying that). Franz Ferdinand are one of the only modern bands I like. Too many bands are trying to copy them now though. |

Whether you like them or not Green Day are destined to become legends, and they sure have a spot reserved in punk history along with The Clash and The Ramones. 'American Idiot' proved that Green Day was far more than a neo-punk fad that started in the mid 90s with 'Dookie'. IMO, every single album they've recorded since 'Dookie' is more mature and creative than the previous one. Sadly 'American Idiot' turned Green Day into a sort of EMO BAND, but they never were or never that was their intention. |

Well, right now, I can't think of one I like... There are some songs I like, but that's about it. Most of the "modern" music I have the awesome joy of hearing is really whine-y. Like "She stomped my heart, my dog died, a herring ate all my carp, and now I'm dying in bitter agony while my cat eats my liver." Oh, that reminds me. I can think of one I hate more than others, "Evanescence". I mean, their "metaphors" are obnoxious.
