He gets picked on so easily...pictures of him with a stripper, video of him randomly talking to the little girl in Budapest, 1984 article referring to him as "the other one."
So what if he retired, I love my Deaky. :'(
Looked sweet with the 70s hair... LONG! Also the afro was cool... apart from that, the "birdman" cut was so silly, made him look ugly!
I have nothing against John, but to be honest he was the less popular member, as he was always the quiet one. He brought that on himself really...
Anyways, Johnny you rock! Full stop.
I think Deaky doesnt get the respect he deserves in the world. So what if he was a quiet one? He deserves just as much respect as the other three. I love him and his music!
And he shouldnt be seen as someone for the backround simply because he wasnt a spot-light hog (not that anyone in QUEEN was, but he overall gave the least amount of interviews, but when he did, he said the things important that needed to be said). All four members of the band were equally important. "Queen is bigger than any of us" to Quote lovely Dr. Brian May CBE... And thats very true i think... Deaky held his own...
He wrote some great hits. He was Queen's business and handy man (Cmon the Deaky amp, need i say more??) and bassist extraordinaire!
Keep Rockin' Deaky, no matter what you do!
And as far as that stripper story goes, who cares?? We dont know all the facts and its really none of our business. I feel terrible that the damn press has to stick their nose into every damn thing they can. F*** the PRESS!
So Deaky, We love you my dear! Nothin but love from this Queenie! \m/
John Deacon rocks and no one should say the contrary. Without John there would be no Queen.
Queen was Freddie (everybody knows), Brian, Roger (everybody remembers them) AND JOHN! It's not "and the bass player, but it could have been anyone else", wrong. John really turned Queen to the band we know today, with the three other Queenies, he was not a passive member.
It's impossible to deny his musical talent (just listen to Break Free, Best Friend, Spread your wings and numerous others).
Will never forget him.
I agree! Deaky was a BIG part of Queen, even if people don't realize it. Without his Basslines, where would the songs go? He deserves more respect than he gets. I may be a MAYniac, but I love Deaky too!
That whole thing with the press, well here's what I feel. I think that they should leave Deaky alone.
I love you Deaky, and Miss you!!
John may have been the "quite one" but when he spoke he spoke volumes, (You're My best Friend, Another One Bites The Dust, I Want To Break Free, uh yeah, the guy could write.)
Plus, he's been married to the same partner for what, 31 years? How many rock figures have marriages that long?
Didn't like his afro though. Sorry Deaky, Brian May is the only British white dude who can pull off a convincing 'fro! ;)
John is an intelligent, gorgeous man (lol, he really is) retired or not, i have always admired his song writing, like for instance In only seven days, i want to break free and spread your wings are one of my personal favorites. He is very smart, educated and has a lot of kids (lol) no really, he has six!!!! It doesnt matter what people think now, whatever, the most important part is that he was respected by Brian,Roger and Freddie, and he really was!!! I LOVE JOHNNY!!! DEACY ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
if it wasnt for john we wouldnt of had youre my best friend, break free or aobtd,or the greatest bass riff of all time{fact!} with under pressure.the man is a god and my inspiration in learning the bass.i thank him for everything i hold dear in life, because without his music i would not of met the woman i love{i sang and played youre my best friend to impress her}.the others may get the plaudits but he will ALWAYS have MY respect.
hey, I love John too, sometimes. DEFINATELY. He was an incredible song writer. Like, almost ALL of his songs were major and good. Thanks you, deaky, if you are reading this
