kdj2hot 08.07.2006 22:16 |
I feel need the to go off on people who ask questions like this, then it hits me. I was a "Queen n00b" anxious to find out all I could about the great band as well at one time. There's still tons I don't know but if I can help someone who doesn't know as much as me out I should do so without any snide, sarcastic remarks. It's on a cd called in nuce, the freddie box set or one of the dozen torrent and file sharing sites out there. I bet you can find Going back and I can hear music in the announce section of this site... or maybe not since both are official. I wonder if the significance of Seven seas of rhye on the beautiful day remix, the baby crying after the freddie flashback on motherlove, etc are lost on you.... they're lost on me too, I can only speculate as to what theyre intentions where lol |
Ready_Coddie 09.07.2006 00:06 |
I believe Going Back has the First Freddie Vocals and Mother Love has the last... sort of a 5 second start and end of his career in sounds |

goin back was the song that Freddie sang not going back if you really want to pick faults with people. Thomas Quinn once again proves;- 1. he knows nothing about music and 2. he tries to always be smarter than everyone else. well look it up. im right you are wrong |

Really? then you are doing good at acting you are dumb then! you tried to be clever and you were wrong. when you don't know what you are on about then don't say anything is best. don't try to be a smartass if you haven't the brains to back it up. |
thomasquinn 32989 15.07.2006 14:35 |
I don't have a brain? That's funny, I only just passed my final exams with an 8.4/10 grade average, and my IB Advanced English exam with 7/7. Anyway, I based myself on a Carole King cd (who is the author of Goin(g) Back, together with her husband Gerry Goffin, as you might know) where the track was named GOING Back. ...and I don't see you coming up with a song modulating 4 times, using 9 and 11 extensions, diminished and augmented chords and still sounding good. Something which I did only yesterday. So I think I've proven my musical worth, thank you. |
gem27 15.07.2006 15:57 |
yeah all those qualifications and its still insulting the family like an uneducated idiot would do. well different sources might say the song title differently so thats fair enough but i was just saying what was the point of you correcting it, even if you were right. going back or goin' back, what the hell! we all know the song that they meant. |

For anyone who doesn't know, the diminished and augmented chords, the 9th and 11th extentions etc are only chords (combinations of notes to create the feeling under the melody if you like). Anyone who does music to a serious level at high school wiil know these terms. It's certainly not degree level. Mr Quinn is trying to be clever and hoping to blind you with science. I would imagine that his composition ramming in every musical trick he's come across sounds like a car crash with distressed cats providing backing vocals. |
Reading Princess 18.07.2006 11:32 |
ALSO, any song that has to modulate (i.e. change key signature)4 TIMES(!) must be very weak in the melody department. (It's an old trick that Barry Manilow used to use) |
gem27 18.07.2006 12:04 |
thank you very much clear for that. i dont take much notice, in fact we all know how good Freddie was on the piano and his compositions and harmonies and i have it on an interview cd freddie actually saying himself that he can hardly read music. Thomas Quinn is too much a smartass for his own good. now everyone on this thread and most people on the whole of queenzone has seen it too. |

Sasha here on QZ would be one. As for your criticism of the use of my chords: I know plenty of conservatory students, most of whom still regard diminished augmented and suspended chords sacrilige. There's "serious level at high school" for you. Moreover, you will be glad to know that such definitions are not part of the highschool curriculum for music classes anywhere in the world. Since this a Queen board, I would think that referring to it as "Goin" is perfectly legitimate since QP set the precedent. Or, you can continue to be a useless pedantic and show off your musical knowledge of accurate song titles even more. <b><font color = "crimson"> ThomasQuinn wrote: Moreover, you will be glad to know that such definitions are not part of the highschool curriculum for music classes anywhere in the world.Really? Mr T Quinn, You are are a Class A stupid tit. I learnt about augmented and diminished chords whilst doing "A" Level music in the UK in 1980. Your musical arguments are laughable. Give us a link to your work (even just 4 bars) so we can check out your masterpiaces. Otherwise shut your overblown mouth you stupid cunt. |
