I have had a few reports of studio time being considered in late fall/winter of 2006. I think an in-depth discussion new album contents is in order... Personally, I think the new album should be mostly new material. I'd say either 100% new or about 80% new. 100% is self-explanatory. 80% is slightly more complicated; I think for every 8 songs, one Queen song remake and one Paul remake should be done. If, say, 12 or 13 new songs are made (less likely), then an additional Queen remake should happen. What do y'all think? Am I on too many prescription drugs? |
Joeker 08.07.2006 02:10 |
well, it might work, but if they were to remake any songs, it would be ones written by only brian or roger. If Roger wanted to do a new version of Radio Ga Ga or I'm in love with my car, that would be cool with me, or Brian doing a new version of 39 or something.... but yeah if they release it they cant have the band billed as just Queen, it would be Queen + Paul Rodgers |
teleman 08.07.2006 03:35 |
No remakes. They can cover songs that they like(like Red House) by other artists but leave the Queen and Paul Rodgers catalogs alone. |
Oszmercury 08.07.2006 12:53 |
original songs, it would be cool |
Going Back 08.07.2006 13:55 |
hope to hear many many songs with freddie on vocal. like brian has said many times there are many vocals with freddie to complete album so as many as they can get would be cool. now the new album could have maybe 13-14 songs with freddie on 3-4 on vocals, roger taylor on 2 and brian on 2 and paul on the other songs then. |
Going Back 08.07.2006 14:18 |
i'm sorry for double post, but i just remembered that there are songs like Rock It with freddie on vocals and maybe i'm in love with my car with freddie on vocals and newer version of it. it would be quite cool for me :D |
chefman5150 08.07.2006 14:45 |
None of the older stuff should even be considered for a remake...that would just be wrong and hurtful. If they are to make a new album, by all means, and it probably will kick ass, but it needs to be all new stuff, or like the aforementioned-covers that they like (i.e. Red House and stuff like that). The remakes are on ROTC as far as I'm concerned. Let's see if Q+PR can take this in a new direction and kick some serious ass!! |
Going Back 08.07.2006 14:47 |
taylor and may sure can cick rodgers ass if he doesn't rock on this album :D |

I've read somewhere (i forgot where) that there's definately gonna be tracks with freddie on it. Brian May said they have numerous songs with freddie which weren't finished yet. From 1980 - 1991. So maybe they don't even need Paul Rodgers! |

No remakes - They need to take a step forward, not look back. No unfinished Feddie songs on this album, please. Q+PR is a new band (with old name:). Old demos with Freddie should be released but NOT on a Q+PR album. So, new songs with the three of them sharing vocals (like in the old Queen albums, Bri & Rog could sing some lead vocals on some of their own songs). I'm sure this album will ROCK. |

pcgenius9 15.07.2006 15:35 |
New album does nothing for me - neither Freddie or Paul. Don't get me wrong, Q+PR live was the best night of my life but the fact remains that I would much rather see a new live DVD! |

the more i think about it the more i hope they hold off on a new record.if its old mish mash like Made in Heaven or Paul taking Bri and Roj down a notch i think i will hapily look at Innuendo as Queen's final and perhaps finest body of work. |

Ok, how about a CD/DVD combo... CD-entirely new material DVD-Either a compilation of live songs from the North American tour or the mysterious footage of the entire Hyde Park show which Brian continuously hints at but never really admits it exists (which it does). Also more perplexing...all of the photos submitted to QPR online and Brian's Soapbox are being held for a later project. Hmm...i wonder... |

Apart from these hypithesis, are there any more 'grounded' rumors about them recording together? You see.. Paul is touring on his own, Brian and Roger seem to be doing different stuff (well, I have no news, actually of what mr. Taylor may be doing at this time :-P) This said, a new release would be great, of course, even with some remakes... I only hope they're not cr**py like Under Pressure's Rah Mix, which was, apart from Freddies vocal impromptu, awful. |
AmeriQueen 04.08.2006 21:36 |
Tracks I wouldn't mind seeing on it are: 'Reaching Out'(I don't particularly love this song, but it's decent and they opened every show of the tour with it. 'Take Love' goes without saying. The last track I hope to see would be a studio version of the slow version of 'Hammer To Fall'. |

I honestly don't see this cd happening. And that's my opinion, but the way this tour has happened, and all of a sudden, nothing... I have seen this happen with alot of artists. I loved the whole Q+PR thing, but let's face it, prolly won't happen. And Brian has made statements in the past about things that will evolve, but they didn't, no dis-respect towards him, just the truth. |

Can't wait for a new album...this is exciting stuff....Roger and Brian must have had lots of song thoughts in their heads over the last few years....having a singer bring them out and who inspires them just helps things....my guess is that it may be 1/2 Paul Rodgers vocals and 1/2 46664 songs /songs that are not suited to Paul (such as "Say it's not True" overall I don't care what it is because I have full confidence in Brian and Roger getting out something that is good and ROCKS....if they go down the remake road I just hope they do it really good....new songs are much better of course and remakes of their own stuff can happen on box set stuff if that ever comes out in this lifetime.... |

I'd like to see 'Take Love' and a studio remake with Paul of the slow version of 'Hammer To Fall'. Outside of those two tracks, I hope the rest of the album is all new material from the three, preferably containing at least 2 or 3 tracks(preferably more) that are sung by Brian and/or Roger. I hope my expectations aren't too high. I am anticipating the greatest album of the 21st Century, at least. |

I'd like all new material throughout the album, except for the new, but already well known to us 'Take Love' that they performed throughout the American tour leg. I would also like to see a DVD-DTS release accompanying the album's regular cd release. Months later I'd like at least one dual release of a cd and video dvd for a tour for this album. Here's my idea for something cool. They should take songs like the Hammer To Fall slow/fast version they did live, Dragon Attack and anything else Paul is awesome for that's old Queen, or old Free and BC stuff that Brian and Roger make a lot stronger(Wishing Well comes to mind) and record these, not for the album, but as B-Sides. |

violonbleu 02.01.2007 18:31 |
that's a kind of a new band...some people are not happy with the Queen thing in it, some very happy...we cannot change it. But I am sure that the majority of the QUeen fans are happy with this "new band" (like me). I explain my own feeling by the fact that when I discovered Queen, Freddie was already dead and John already retired. But it was before QPR. One day I found on the net "I'm ready", Brian May with Paul Rodgers. I thought "Wow! what a great singer!" and then I was dreaming "I'm sure his voice would be suitable with Queen material" and, some years after, my dream came true. For me, it is like a NEW Queen was born. And I'm HAPPY. But I understand very well that people who were waiting for a new REAL QUEEN album, during more than one year of waiting, were more happy than now when it came out. But I hope that it is comprehensible that EVERYONE who loves the real Queen band, feels that there is a kind of happiness in the air, even if some don't like the idea of QPR. Only the fact of discussing about it is something which shows this KIND OF HAPPINESS ABOUT THE QPR PROJECT...Imo, of course. |
