I read in a book (I believe it was Queen as it began but I'm not sure) that Freddie's idols were Elvis and John Lennon (Not Paul Rodgers as Brian and Roger would have you believe) I was wondering if Freddie ever met Elvis or John Lennon?
I've always been very interested in knowing if Freddie actually met John Lennon. I read somewhere that in 1980,the year Lennon was shot, that he was inspired by Queen's "The Game" to start writting again, so maybe they actually met. Have you heard anything about this?
Love.

"It's not rockabilly exactly but it did have that early Elvis feel, and it was one of the first records to exploit that. In fact I read somewhere - in Rolling Stone I think it was - that John Lennon heard it and it him the impetus to start recording again. If it's true - and listening to the last album it certainly sounds as if he explored similar influences - that's wonderful." (Roger about CLTCL)
