I'm not suprised at all. It's a QP release, remember? |
AlexRocks 29.06.2006 16:43 |
Looks great to me...I can't wait. Oh! Come up with something else to complain about! I know you can do it if you put your mind to it! Remember! Judge a book by its cover! |

There have been threads complaining about the covers to LatB, RotC, and now this. I just wanted to point out this sad trend that is starting. Thanks. Have a nice day. |
Bohardy 29.06.2006 18:12 |
The 'Stone Cold Classics' cover also was subject to a few moans here. And rightly so. |

WTF is that??? Who in their right mind would call this a cover for such an important CD????Whoever made that is so fucked up...where they on crack or something while making it? Hell, kindergartners draw better than that crap! I'm disappointed :( |

I wish someone had informed me that this is what they had planned. I think even I could've done a better job. |

I'm not doubting you artistically, but I really fucking hate it when people say 'I could do better with a box of crayolas' or 'my niece can do better' and then they never back it up! Seriously, there's a function to upload pictures on this site, I want to see people recreate this cover with crayons :D It'll be like a contest, except you don't win anything but praise. |

i only have one question... what application did they use for the basic drawing? 1. MS Paint 2. Etch-A-Sketch 3. A Blackboard and Chalk either way, well done...congrats to QP on procuding a CD cover that the average 7-yr-old could produce in Paint Shop Pro |
Koeni 30.06.2006 03:57 |
I like it a lot! It looks vibrant, just how Freddie's music sounds! And if you think that you can do a better job....show it! |
breakthru1989 30.06.2006 06:24 |
+ MONEY CAN’T BUY HAPPINESS DEMO 1984. should be on the compilation. after that on single to give the song many airplay on the radio stations around the world. because it’s a great song. |
DeeEmm 30.06.2006 08:01 |
I like it. But... "Singer of Songs?" lmfao. That's like...hahahahaha... |
PieterMC 30.06.2006 08:18 |
Oh come on. Anybody defending this way this looks is nuts. You can basically recreate this effect in Photoshop fairly quickly. It looks cheap and tacky. |

I think this probably is the official sleeve, but I don't know why this is so much of a surprise. It is the same image of Freddie as on the official website for this release, which has been up for ages, just with a white background : link I think they could have done better but after looking at it a few times I think it will grow on me. |
DragonOnMyBack 30.06.2006 08:49 |
Actually just realised this is from the official album site, anyway it is the same image that has been there ages, but in black. |
mc7t 30.06.2006 08:50 |
That's one crap cover |
vonkeil 30.06.2006 09:29 |

DeeEmm wrote: I like it. But... "Singer of Songs?" lmfao. That's like...hahahahaha...The phrase "singer of songs" always reminds me of Tony Curtis in Spartacus. :D However, seeing as how the first track is supposed to be "In My Defence" - there is that line, "I'm just a singer with a song..." |

I thought the "crayon effect" was cool, but the cover looked a bit empty.. :-S |
john bodega 30.06.2006 14:47 |
"Didn't realize I would piss anyone off with my crayon statement..:-S Geez." Oh get off it... you didn't piss anyone off. I was *genuinely* telling you do "do better" as you said you could. It's not enough for one to say 'I could do better with crayons'. It proves nothing. Go ahead and *do it* and then we'll all have a better cover to look at than this stupid thing! :P Honestly, I thought I made it very clear that I wasn't having a go. In fact here it is : "Seriously, there's a function to upload pictures on this site, I want to see people recreate this cover with crayons :D" I was only saying "go for it!" Haha. |
magicalfreddiemercury 30.06.2006 15:39 |
Who designed this? Would that make a difference to anyone? |
beautifulsoup 30.06.2006 15:47 |
Ooooh. What does that mean? |
smileexpert 30.06.2006 17:05 |
Has anyone considered the significance between the cover and Freddie - aside from the fact that it's a photo 'of' him.... What I mean is that Freddie, before he joined Brian and Roger was trained as a graphic designer and as a costume designer ... we've all seen his sketches in some form or another in the 'Untold Story' and similar programs. So - in my view, the cover is all the more fitting in that it is done as a 'sketch style' in perhaps a similar format and style to what Freddie might have drawn himself. At least that's how I see it. I like it ! |
Wilki Amieva 30.06.2006 17:10 |
I kinda like it. Specially the 'subliminal' stuff on it. |
Bobby_brown 30.06.2006 18:35 |
i like it too! Really, it grows on you. I think that they wanted to do a tribute to his style of drawing as someone said, and the fact that it isn't "perfect" makes it special. It reminds me the "Innuendo" drawings, and somehow it looks O.K. Take care |
Nathan 30.06.2006 18:38 |
I think it looks quite cool. Besides, it's the quality of the music we're buying it for, not what the cover looks like. But at the same time, it's not exactly the most eye-catching cover ever made and it does seem to have been drawn in a hurry. |

I actually like it. Not my favourite, but it's just the sleeve, get over it. At least it's MUCh better then Stone Cold Classics. They have over-used that picture SOOO many time, but *hurrah* the split them up and put them in a row...big difference. Anyhoo, bottom line, I like this sleeve. |

Well done Queen productions, on more garbage. I'm sick of endless compilations that rip people off. Open the vaults or give us some 70s live concerts on DVD. |
