Hi all QueenZoners It's Ale here, I'm the friend of Luca (HANGMAN)and "partner" involved with him in the Staff of the Italian community link I sometimes posted on QZ with the nick of "Brian1976". I would like to let you know about a new Queen fans project that's coming soon. Take a look here: link I hope I will be able to complete the site in this weeks and put it on line... And then, starting to upload cuttings! I collected "some" good things in this years, so who said that only audio or video stuff have to be shared? ;-) To do this in the best way possible, I need my stuff for sure to be uploaded but I would also like to receive scans also from you guys! Also if you don't collect cuttings, maybe you have a little article from your local newspaper, something from 70s or last days, Queen related or only Brian, or Queen+ Paul Rodgers... If you want to share this things (scans of cuttings, articles, pages of scrapbooks, cover of magazines...) now there is THE PLACE where all this stuff can be archived. Don't you think it's a good idea to have, to read old reviews of Queen singles, old GOOD articles about the band, old BAD articles (and have some comments on forums or message boards...) and NEW "Classic Rock" articles, for examples? I think YES, there will be a good idea, so I'm starting the project and I will upload my cuttings... I hope some of you will follow me ;-) My friend Luca HANGMAN is helping me in this project, that was also an idea from Him. I have to thank Luca in a special way 'cause he was the guy that helped me with my first steps into the collecting world and especially into the world of the internet, of the web sites and of the HTML codes! Thanks man! If you need more infos about QueenCuttings.com, if you want to send your opinion on this, your suggestions, your critics or your cuttings, you can write me an email (adresse on my profile or on link Let me know what you think about all this project, I think that feedbacks are very important. Rock On! Ale |

This is a great project man! I think this is very unique! |
FriedChicken 15.06.2006 09:21 |
I've got some german adverts from the Magic tour, I can scan them if you like |
Jjeroen 15.06.2006 10:34 |
Nice initiative guys! If it are articles, I presume it all needs to be in English? Or do you want foreign languages as well? |
QueenCuttings.com 15.06.2006 10:50 |
Thank you guys! Yes, send me your scans if you want FriedChicken :-) To jeroen: Well I think it's not important in which language articles (or covers, etc..) comes from. English will be understood by ALL of course but I will also updated something from Italy or Japan or others countries with no problems. Press from all over the world are welcome ;-) Bye |
S@turn 15.06.2006 10:52 |
got some dutch stuff that I collected in the mid 70s, if you need it, it will be greatly shared. I have to re install scanner, find the stuff, but I sure should like to add my contribution, but, it is in dutch, hope it doesnt matter? |
rachael mae. 15.06.2006 10:58 |
That's a great idea :) |
Serry... 15.06.2006 11:39 |
Good luck! I'll try to scan "medley" of articles from Russian media. |
Benn 15.06.2006 11:53 |
You would do well to get hold of Mr. Scully - he would possibly be able to make your little project "world class"....... |
FriedChicken 15.06.2006 12:05 |
I can also translate the german stuff into english. I can also translate dutch articles if you want. |
Mr. Scully 15.06.2006 15:28 |
I've got probably the biggest collection of Queen cuttings from the English press from the early years 1973-1978. The problem is that I have absolutely NO time to scan any of that :-((( |
YourValentine 15.06.2006 16:41 |
Good luck, Ale, I am sure this will be a great website. |
QueenCuttings.com 15.06.2006 16:41 |
Thank you to ALL for your help. And yes, all future translations are really welcome. To Mr Scully I can imagine how large is your collection of cuttings ;-) Don't worry, I think TIME is the big problem for all of us... However you know my email adresse ;) Thank you Bye! |
Mr. Scully 15.06.2006 17:06 |
I don't really know what to do. The cuttings are too big for a scanner so I'd have to take photos of them. So far I've got only a Olympus Camedia photo camera which doesn't really make good photos from close distance. Maybe if I (sooner or later) buy a Panasonic photo camera with the excellent stabilizator and the ultrazoom, it will be easier. Anyway, let's see what site you create :) I have a feeling this could be a very good site. |
rocktheflash 16.06.2006 00:47 |
great idea!!! wish you all the best for this interesting side. |
Jjeroen 16.06.2006 06:20 |
I've also got a large amount of cuttings, from all era's. But same problem here: time! I don't even have time every now and then to answer the e-mails of my dearest... But if I get the chance I will try to scan some of it. (Including, of course, everything I published myself! ;-) Is it an idea that you make it possible to just upload the scans somewhere? Might be more practical then e-mailing, considering the amount and size of everything. Cheers Ale - ciao Luca ;-) |
Is it an idea that you make it possible to just upload the scans somewhere? Might be more practical then e-mailing, considering the amount and size of everything.
Yes this can be a very good idea, thanks! But I have to find some HTML codes that allow me to do this... And it has to work ;-) Well.. A good temporary solution could be use MEGAUPLOAD.com and indicate my email: so in just one "click", people can send big files directly to my email adresse. Don't forget however if you know this, to indicate the date of the cuttings, the year, the month where this is possible. So I can try to do the site the best accurate possible. Thank you guys for all your suggestions! Ale |

Great project: such a site is very welcome!!! There isn't much press-related stuff on the internet from Queen. It's a nice addition to the WWW |

Best wishes to a great friend and Queen fan! You'll get all the help you need from the great QZ community.. you deserve it, you're going to create an innovative and wonderful site, an unique project which can open a lot of new "doors" into the Queen world... I'm glad you finally started... you'll never walk alone, mate :) Cheeeeeers! |

5th july 2006: Just a small update I'm still uploading scans of cuttings/articles and adverts on QueenCuttings, I think I will "open" my site soon, just in time for the born of my FIRST daughter.... (anyhow by the end of July) I would like to dedicate this project to her ;-) I received some contributions from fans, thank you all, hope to receive others. Rock On Ale link link |

Congradulations on your daughter! This new site looks really cool! |
The Real Wizard 08.07.2006 00:36 |
Fantastic idea for a website. I wish you all the best! But could you fix the html tag that forces it to be 1280 pixels? Anyone with a smaller resolution has to scroll right, and that's pretty inconvenient. |
QueenCuttings.com 08.07.2006 10:34 |
Thank you Sir GH for your comments! About the resolution, the site will be ok also for who has 1024x768. Unfortunately, I can't reduce more. Who has a res. lower than 1024x768 has to scroll left and right. (800x600 for istance) I hope this won't be a big problem, but at this point (site is just ready) I think I can't reduce more Rock On |
The Real Wizard 11.07.2006 17:43 |
I think the most common resolution these days is 1024x768, so that will definitely be a big help. :) |
Deacon Fan 11.07.2006 18:21 |
Just wanted to say how much I anticipate enjoying this new site. What a great idea! Sadly I have nothing to contribute though. |

Sir GH wrote: I think the most common resolution these days is 1024x768, so that will definitely be a big help. :) Ok, the site is already setted for this resolution, so, I hope it will be fine for all. Thank-you very much for your help! Rock On Ale |

I can send you the gazzetta pic of Del Piero + Freddie for your project if you want it. :-) We're all waiting to see your site. I'm sure it will be great! |
The Fairy King 12.07.2006 04:21 |
Great initiative! Excellent, if i have a decent scanner soon i will send u some stuff! |
QueenCuttings.com 17.07.2006 09:38 |
And yes, the day has arrived... QueenCuttings.com in now on line! I hope you all enjoy this new project. There is a big amount of time behind it, and If God still wants, there will be more in the future. You can contribute with your scans guys, if you want... Just send me an email or follow the instructions in the "Send us your cuttings" page. Me and my wife are waiting for a wonderful daughter that is coming... (Should born in about one month) but I can not stop to share my Queen passion with Queen fans around the world... I hope I'll have time to continue to do that, in the future! ;-) I'm looking for your comments on QueenCuttings.com, critics or advices.. So i can improve my work ;-) Rock On! |
Erin 17.07.2006 12:03 |
Looks nice, Ale..:-) Keep up the good work! Thanks for the link to our site, btw..:-) We'll link to yours, as well. |
AC 17.07.2006 14:24 |
I just had a look at the site and it really impressed me! There are so many interesting things there! Great job! I think that some really great sites were born in the last month... QueenArchives, QueenAutographs and now QueenCuttings! It's really a wonderful thing for the Queen world! |
PieterMC 17.07.2006 14:26 |
Great site!! I agree that it is nice to see several good Queen sites popping up. |
The Real Wizard 17.07.2006 15:38 |
Excellent website... well done! But I have to say, this article confuses me: link I'll break it down... It mentions two gigs in Birmingham and three at Wembley Arena which were in 1980, and mentions several nights at small venues from a year ago, which must be the 1979 Crazy tour. It actually says these will be their first concerts since the smaller concerts... but that excludes the US 1980 shows. Furthermore, aside from that mistake, they contradict themselves by mentioning the South American concerts, which were in 1981! Then it mentions Greatest hits/flix/pix, and then the pending release of the Hot Space album. Either this is a combination of two articles into one, or some journalist is really mixing up their facts! Your thoughts? |
QueenCuttings.com 17.07.2006 16:11 |
Thank you all guys for your positive comments (and for your wishes too!), very much appreciated! If you want, leave a message on the guestbook. To Sir GH: Thank you for the question. I bought that cutting sometime ago and on the back it has written 16th jan. 1982 as date. I dont think that the journalist referred to the gigs Queen played in London in Dec. 1980, but he refers to "probably" gigs in May 1982. I think that dates mentioned in London and Birmingham were wrote in a way that readers can understand as CONFIRMED but they weren't. Article say that more dates will be confirmed, but (It's my opinion) also THAT date at the beginning of May were not confirmed yet. Infact, article said: "A spokesman for the band said: "I can't confirm the dates, but I believe they should be ready shortly". So, I think that finally that dates were cancelled (or better, not confirmed). And Queen come back to Wembley Arena only in Sept. 1984. Bye |

Don't you think it's slightly coincidental that it's 2 nights at the NEC and 3 at Wembley, just like in 1980? Honestly, I think it's a journalist who mistakenly copied from a 1980 report and printed a new one in 1982, as if the 5 concerts were really news. I've never otherwise heard about these 5 concerts being planned in 1982. |

Thinking about it, more probably that wrong date of the article (what about the South American tour in this case?) and, maybe you're right, more probably than my idea too. Well, strange press in UK in the '80s... ;) |

Hi guys! I'm writing just to let you know that I solved that problem I had between my site and the browser FIREFOX Now, also who use FireFox instead of Internet Explorer, (best res. suggested: 1024x768) can take a look at QueenCuttings in a better way ;-) It's about one month today, I've lanched the site: if you have any suggestions, please let me know. I think QueenCuttings can be still more useful for the fans community, I think it could have more people involved (visits, contributions) and some "better technical features", but I need your help! Have nice Holidays! TO Your Valentine: your email adresse isn't in the profile, could you please send me your adresse? Thanks |
