Here is some rare material (I hope) from a sampler called “The Queen is dead” , undertitled “The Royal Salute”, released an a local German label 14 years ago.
The sampler contains 22 coverversions of Queen-Songs performed by amateur bands from the mid-german-towns Goettingen (The Cross played there in 1990) and Kassel (Queen-gig in 1982). Here are the 10 most interesting tracks. Bands from the independent scene play Queen-Songs in their own individual style that is inspired by rockabilly, new wave, hip hop or electronic pop. So, some Tracks sound really different to the original.
The Tracks are (Song/Artist):
01 - Stone Cold Crazy/Big Balls
02 - Dragon attack/Bob Burns
03 - 39/The Eleventh Plague
06 - Wir sind die Sieger/Eiskalte Gaeste
09 - Melancholy Blues/Scooters
10 - Lily of the Valley/Pluto and Venus
11 - Under Pressure/Evil
12 - Im Land der Goetter/Circus Ripper
13 - She makes me/Taste of Cindy
17 - White man/Der Dritte Raum
Track 06 is a german-speech version of “We are the Champions” (with ironical words), track 11 of “In the lap of the gods ... Revisited”. Enjoy! link link link link link link link link link link
Here is a bit more of that jazz from “The queen is dead”:
04 - Tie your mother down/Toxin
05 - Who wants to live forever/Ballerina
07 - Man on the prowl/Streetwise
08 - Crazy little Thing Called Love/Lolitas link link link link

This is what you want and this what you get.
Let‘s complete the 1992-compilation with ...
14 - Flash/The Creatures of Hollywood Hills
15 - Get down make love/Haunted Henschel
16 - Bohemian Rhapsody/Die Schwangeren Bremsen
18 - Invisible Man/Chassalla
19 - Another one bites the dust/Hot 'n‘ Cold
20 - Sie hoert Freddie Breck/Ben Hur and Die Goonies
21 - Wie will rog juh (Sachsen Mix)/Broiler Gang
22 - God save the queen/The Choice
Track 20 is Sheer Heart Attack. It‘s a story about a beautiful Girl with one big mistake - her favourite singer is Freddie Breck, once in Germany „famous“and feared for his horrible ballads in a Barry-Manilow-style. Track 21 is a parody of WWRY sung in the typical dialect of Eastern Germany (former GDR) that sounds funny to many germans elsewhere. link link link link link link link link
Have a nice day.
Nice to complete this nice little tribute! Sounds a little bit crazy sometimes, but better than much other tribute album! Is a chance to get the cover art work? Thank you for upload this...
Bump / Reup request
I remember seeing this on Andy Young's discography and drooling at the idea of an alternate version of a few Queen songs, especially:
Lily of the Valley
She Makes Me
White Man
