Alex!! I need your help!! I need a letter translated for me like asap! I just received word that I got some summer camp scholarships for some of my Latino students. Today is our last day of school so I have to get the letters out within the next 2 hours!!! YIKES!!! Here is what I need it to say,
Dear Parent,
The Family Resource Center has just received notice that a YMCA Summer Camp scholarship is available for your child. This means your child can attend YMCA's summer program all summer long for FREE. However, there is no transportation provided by the YMCA for your child to get to and from the camp. The Family Resource Center is going to look in to some possibilities for transportation but in the meantime, I need to know who can attend regardless of transportation availability. Please mark the appropriate sentence and return this form in the addressed, stamped envelope to school. If you have any questions regarding the YMCA scholarships, please call Mrs. Raper at 282-2363.
Thank you!

Queridos padres,

PS: I have translated the names of the "Family Resource Center" and "YMCA Summer Camp." If you think there's no need, just put the english name... but just in case, I did it.

Thank you MatiasMay and thank you Sasha for validating I can trust it. I would not be happy to send this home to my parents and find out it didn't say what I wanted it to say.
Gracias! I appreciate it greatly!
I had to change vuestro. I don't have any parents from Spain and apparently this word is only used in Spain? My families come from Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Guatamala, and Santo Domingo. A parent I have that is from Mexico was in the office today and I had her look over the letter and she told me it would be best to replace that word with another word she gave me. She said veustro is a "very formal" word that is not used in other Latin countries other than Spain. Shockingly I found out today that many, many of my Spanish speaking families can not read Spanish!! Not only can they not understand English, but I can't communicate with some of them through letters either bc they can't read.
Aye yi yiiiiiiiiiiii!!! Alex, move here and teach my parents to read, write, and speak English!!!!!

I have some good news 'bout that Liss. I hope, surely, being there next year ;-)
I'll give ya more info on MSN.
One more thing... about vuestro/a. Indeed it is a formal Spanish _from Spain_ way but, used sometimes here... not in a really formal way. I use it sometimes when I write an email headed to someone I know for the first time or in a resume - in both cases only a couple of times, more like an ornamental way than a strictly formal one.
We all - Latin Americans and Spanish people - talk the same language. Modisms apart, we all do.
Ohhhhhhhhh!!! You are coming??!! Yea!!
Do you think maybe I should have kept that word in there? I don't want to insult my parents but she just said that word is simply not used and may cause some confusion? I don't know because I have no clue what the word means!! LOL!!
Hey, any ideas on how to send someone a file that is 179MBs? Too big for email right? What is a good program to use? It's an interview.
Gracias!!!
