I just love Billy Joel... so I though I'd dedicate a thread to him. What are your favorite Billy Joel songs? I think mine is "It's Still Rock and Roll To Me." In fact, that's what I'm listening to right now! He's a great musician and a good example of- in my opinion- great, classic American music. |

I know this sounds lame but I only know "Up Town Girl" song....So I guess that's my favourite? LOL! He's cool. :-) |

Hmmm, too many good ones to pick a few... - All About Soul - My Life - Uptown Girl - It's Still Rock N' Roll To Me - State Of Grace - I Go To Extremes - This Is The Time - A Matter Of Trust - Allentown - Goodnight Saigon You might be wondering why I didn't pick 'Piano Man', and the answer is simple... TOO OVERPLAYED |

Aw, that's okay, Jess! I heard he grew up in Levittown, Pa. Is this true? That's where my Dad grew up... |

When he went around to shake hands, she didn't let go of his hand, and he had to sort of pull away from her! Lol. |

I live in Bellmore NY, which is 10 minutes from Levittown, the Long Island middle class suburb where Billy Joel grew up. We love Billy Joel so much here that we allow him to crash into our houses without getting pissed off. |
mayniac316 23.05.2006 22:02 |
^ Lol, there would have been a similar situation in Philthydelphia at the Q+PR concert had I had front row seats... Brian: Let go of my hand!! Me: Never!! You're coming home with me!! :D Brian: Do you have internet access? Me: Yes. Brian: Well, alright then. As long as I can get on me soapbox and rant... |

I'd like to hear an updated version of Allentown from him... "Well we're living here in Allentown... and no one here knows any English..." |

Well, either way, I still would let him crash my house. Technically, I don't have a house, so feel free to crash into my room. Just not on my CD collection. ;P |

I love Billy Joel just as much as Queen. (close anyway) Please people...do yourself a big ass favor and pick up Billy's albums...his "B sides", to me, are bigger than the hits alot of the time. ie: "Uptown Girl" is one of his lamest tunes to me, and its one of his biggest hits. My favorite BJ songs are: Vienna She's got a way (from attic) don't ask me why the stranger leave a tender moment alone cold spring harbor stileto zanzibar you're my home summer highland falls new york state of mind damn, there are so many. |
john bodega 24.05.2006 05:33 |
Billy Joel's music doesn't do it for me really, but I readily concede that the guy is an incredible musician. He's infinitely more versatile a pianist than say, Elton John. |

Billy Joel is the closest thing to a stand up comedian among pop/rock stars. If you go to one of his shows he will joke around with the crowd in between songs. I love the bits where he reads bad song reviews from music critics, then rips the paper to shreds and proceeds to play that very same song. |
Farlander 24.05.2006 11:01 |
Billy Joel is my favorite. I've seen him twice solo, twice with Elton John, and once in one of his college lecture things. He was fantastic every time. |

Or when he's "break dancing" on top of the piano, or being a "musicomedian", or any of the antics I've heard he does during his shows for that matter. :p Any info would be appreciated, I've looked but I didn't find any... |
