Commence with the flaming.
I agree with some of his points, especially regarding the Beatles or the Who, and he's certainly entitled to his opinions, but...a C?
The Beatles had 10 albums ranked at least a 13 (on a scale of 1-15). Only ANATO from Queen was as high.
This person said that he thought "The march of the black queen" and "The fairy fellers master stroke" was bad and pointless songs. Erhm... Clearly an idiot.
Why in the hell do people always group those two songs together?? Ok, themulti-layerd overdubbing thing, but sheash!! Anyhoo, they dont know what they;re talking about :P

"Resonance: 1/5. All of Queen's music is meticulously calculated show-biz stuff. ALL of it. Perhaps a couple confessional Mercury rockers or ballads occasionally contain grains of real feelings - but it would take ages to sort it out."
This is simply bullshit. Apart from that, the general evaluation is reasonably good. I'd give them a 4/5 there, and a 3 for adequacy. 2 is simply too low. That brings the total average to 3.6, rating them a B+, which on a scale of music in general is about right (A- in my books, but still).
After checking out the ratings on other artists, I can come to only one conclusion:
The 'reviewer' is extremely biased and overly concerned with coming across as intelligent. He is guilty of what he accused Queen-fans of: being pseudo-intellectual.

I cant BELIEVE he couldnt tell the difference between trumpet and sax! I PLAY the trumpet (5 years now), and believe me, there is SO much of a difference!!
Music reviewers have the easiest job in the world : pick great music and say it's crap. Your profile rises immediately when you're "sharp" and "edgy" enough to do this. Of course, nobody can fault you because you 'know what you're talking about' and if that fails you can just say 'well, I have my opinion, and my readers agree with me'.
Ugh... insufferable people sometimes.
Haha. Case in point - a brainless music show (like MTV but worse) on Australian TV had a "Greatest Videos of all Time" thing today, where you phone in and vote for your favourite.
Halfway through the morning, just about every video came from the past few years, ignoring some of the best songs and best videos of the past 30 or so years.
And they *didn't even put on Satisfaction*.

Yes, I know. That's why I wrote it. I play a little bit of saxophone, but even to someone who doesn't play ANY instrument, the difference is obvious; my dad knows NOTHING about playing music or musical theory, but he would never make such a mistake.

because errrm...they ARE GROUPED TOGETHTER naturally on the album
any fool can see that Fairy Feller/Nevermore/Black Queen are meant to be treated like a medley....they were the embryo of Bo Rhap
"Queen are especially attractive for the 'pseudo-intellectual' music fans, that is, the kind of dudes who are way too slow, close-minded and poor-educated to recognize really timeless music like Genesis, King Crimson, or Jethro Tull, but which are quick to jump on the Queen bandwagon because... because, after all, the music of Queen is quite suitable for those people."
Y'know, I'm not normally the sort to get uptight about other people's rights to express their opinion. I welcome it. I cherish it. It's like using tools. It's what sets me apart from the apes. And George Bush.
But I have to say, over 34 years, I've gathered up around 1500 LPs and 2500 CDs. That means by sheer luck and average purchasing alone, I have gathered up some Tull and Genesis along the way.
If I am poorly educated because (even after owning these) I still rate Queen more highly, then I am happy to wear that label. The sheer arrogance displayed here is enough for me to quite capably say that this chap is way off the mark.
I was concerned about what I was going to read after the first few lines of discourse. However, based on the above quoted paragraph, I can safely say that I will be ignoring the ravings of this mental midget.
Did I pick up that he was Russian? He does the good folk of that nation a dis-service by publishing such guff in a place where the world can openly inspect his musings....

Wrong. They are not "grouped" together. In fact, MOTBQ and Funny How Love Is seque much more fluidly that those mentioned. Nevermore ends - then MOTBQ begins. Go have a listen...

Read Carl Sagan. Now. We've lumped Bush in with our considerably intelligent cousins for too long.
hmm Frederick Bulsara eh? i see..... well I dont really mind... i guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion right?... I just dont like it how he paid out on Queen fans, I mean we dont pay out on him for not liking queen...
yeah that anoys me... my friends do it all the time...
