I'm assuming girls (or the gay guys out there :D) can relate to this. My mother is giving me such a hard time! Between the pushing out of the closet, and her total clingy-ness to me, I think I'm going to strangle her! (Not really of course, but she is infuriating.) She gets gets all moody when I spend a lot of time with my friends, and when I'm on the computer too much. She just sits and watches me. I am her best friend. Ugh! Anyone else experience this? What are your mom problems? |

My mom just yells a bunch, but only when me and my sister are at each others throats. Luckily she is currently in New York. :P She drives me nuts sometimes though... |

Hmmm. I don't have any problems with my parents or just my mum. When I was younger I used to get mad at them easily, but now I feel bad for all the times I was mean to them. Other than the fact they won't let me get a dog, I have no problems with them. ;-) I feel lucky to have the parents I have. :-) |

Ahhh! Thank God I'm not the only one!!! My stepmom is so clingy!!! I can't stand clingy. I'm always like "Get AWAY!!" and then she cries and yells at me and then I feel guilty. Blaugh. Thank God for Queenzone to run away to! :P |

When she says, "you can go with your sister", but I say I'd rather go alone, she gets all suspicious and asks why I don't want my sister's company. |

My mum never gets off my back. It's always: "Put on more clothes! Make your bed! Buy new shoes!" I don't want any fucking new shoes, I like my room when it's a mess and I don't get cold when just because I don't have a jacket in the middle of the summer! But no, she doesn't get this, she thinks I sholud dress like a fucking eskimo in 100 degrees heat. Jeez... Wish she was a bit more like my dad... |

I wonder if she'll let me go out tonight. Probably not. lol :-P |

Well folks I'm neither a "mom", "mum" or "mam". Nor am I gay. (I think) However, a few sage words, along the lines of the Sunscreen song. My mother is now 74, and crippled with Parkinson's. She has to live in a home where she gets 24hr a day care. It was the hardest decision of our lives to put her in there. But she is still our mother. She gives off when I ditch yet another girlfriend. She offers sage advice when we need it. She is the answer to all parent woes when my sister can't cope with her three boisterous brats. So all I will say is: your mums won't be there forever. Appreciate them now, including all their wee faults. When they're gone, you'll miss them. And....wear sunscreen. |

That's all we ever ask in the end. |

Moms need to find friends and hobbies of their own. That keeps them away from being up your ass all the time. |

Even when my mother is being "overly-protective," or whatever else I'm still thankful that I have an incredibly loving mother. Your mother will not always be around for you and when that time comes, you will wish she were there to be clingy towards you. Learn to appreciate your mother for even the annoying things and be thankful that you have a mother at all. I take care of children every day that either do not have a mother or father and it is a sad, sad thing to have to see. |
