Just thought I'd throw this out here, as I haven't seen it mentioned on the board ever before, but the video for Calling All Girls is a direct spoof/parody/self insertion of the George Lucas film THX 1138 ... is there any reasoning behind this, other than Brian's being a Star Wars fanatic?

It IS based on George Lucas' THX-1138, but in the commentary for GVH2, Brian (at first) mistakenly credits the film to Stanley Kubrick.(LOL) He then realizes he made a mistake and corrects himself.
So....I don't think the THX theme had anything to do with Brian, I think it was the director's idea.
It was discussed here before, it's even in the FAQ :) link
It's a funny video because the images have nothing to do with the song at all, I think they just enjoyed the acting.
Btw, Lauren - did you ever finish that CLTCL clip?
