When you guys are down in the dumps, how do you rebuild your self esteem? My self esteem and confidence in myself are completley non existent. |

When you do something you're particularly proud of, you should either post a picture of it or make a note about it in a book set aside just for this. When you're down on yourself, you can take a look through this book and see all of your accomplishments in one place. That should give your self-esteem a little boost. |

I know what you are going through. I've always had low self esteem and a very low self image. What helped me the most was my "true" friends. I had a best friend that would always "help" me. She would hide my secretes from family, and cover my problems. Well, she moved away and changed. I made new friends. Now I don't have to have any secretes to hide. and when I have problems, they help me solve it instead of cover it. They have always been there for me and never let me look at the negative side of things. I say good friends are a great boost for a healthy self esteem. |

perfect way to cure the blues: (Queen styled) 1. Listen to "It's a Beautiful Day" 2. Follow up by listening to "Don't Stop Me Now" 3. Completely rock out to "Killer Queen" You'll be bursting w/ happiness in no time! :D:D:D |

I don't think it's possible to cure a low self esteem, or raise it up without lying to yourself. So I can't help out there, but if you're feeling upset I suggest writing it out of your system. It usually helps me a bit. Whether it's something you morph into fiction or if it's just like keeping a journal I think it might help. |

You should all feel good about yourself! Just beeing Queenfan, shows that your not a mainstreem junkie, and that you have IQ in some way.. That your an individual, that does not need to be the person, everybody else wants you to be! Cool people you are!:) (but When that doesent help me, I look at some homework I got good grade for, or a good drawing I made..) |
The Lost Queen 15.05.2006 04:41 |
Well... I used to have very low self esteem, but I started listening to Queen, and now that's gone, I feel good and secure about myself all the time. Allthough, I'm always either very happy or very angry, but when I'm angry I just put on Death on two legs and cut of a chunk of my hair, and the anger dissapears. But, sometimes I just get really tired of everything around me, and then, listening to Queen always help. |
DreaminQueen 16.05.2006 17:33 |
Well i struggle with it on a daily basis... And there are some great suggestions here... Queen always helps me too, and writing, but i write poetry... But ive accepted that ill never be popular and u know what, thats absolutely fine with me, im dorky and intelligent and i dance to the beat of my own drum, i have a few close friends and im totally happy with that... Because if you look at some of the "cool" people (and i use that term loosely) they really arent the best people... So start small with something about you that you do like about yourself... And remember the only one who can make ureself happier... What works for me is putting on a Queen Cd or DVD and signing at the top of my lungs and dancing like nobodies watching, because its a great release and you can have a great laugh about yourself... i do it everyday because its a great stress reliever and i feel soo good after it... or i play my piano... and sometiems talking about it too... if ure feeling down, u can email me... |

This may not work for guys...in fact it probably won't. But when I'm feeling down in the dumps I listen to this new song by Pink called "Stupid Girls" and remind myself how glad I am that I'm not one of them. There are too many of them on this college campus, that's for sure.... |

When life gets me down, I always listen to Diana Ross' 'If We Hold On Together'. WHile it often moves me to tears, the lyrics always pick me up and every time I hear that song I feel like I'm in Heaven. |

Thats soo beautiful :') Its those moments and songs that really can put things in perspective and help you feel up lifted... just think of that song when you're feeling down, even if it doesnt do the complete job right away, it can ameliorate it... seriously though, try the dance like no ones watching and sing thing, its really really fun! And i dont think anyone will ever have all the answers unless you can be in the 4th dimension...and thats not a joke... we had a discussion about that today in one of my classes and apparently my math teacher experienced it once, but you cant really explain what its like, but he said that he understood the meaning of life and just knew everything...but only for that moment, and you are able to WATCH TIME as its HAPPENING... isnt that mind boggling?? |

It's gone higher to a healthier self esteem now. It may be not normal or high, but its a lot better. And I didn't take any medications. I believe that if you really want high self esteem, you can get better. All you need is a little boost. |

Sometimes the people around me can be so mean. I've been called a lot of names. But it doesn't bother me at all. I have a strategy. I just think "What kind of person wastes their time insulting people for fun? The answer: A moron." Why would I care what a moron has to say. Also when something bad happens and I feel horrible I have a five-step-method: 1. take a shower 2. have vanilla ice cream 3. listen to Seaside Rendevous and Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon 4. watch a Johnny Depp movie 5. talk to someone, even if its just my dog, I feel better after I tell someone |
