On Roger's drums in the FM Tribute Concert...there is something on the right side of his drums that he hits on in songs like CLTCL...I am drummer and I do not know what that is and I have been wondering about this for a while...If any one knows, could they please post their reply...I have stumped all my drummer friends too regarding this percussion instrument...Cheers!!!
That's what I thought but it seems to have a circular shape...and both my blue and red jam blocks don't look like that...but maybe you are right Serry!!!...Cheers!!!
These black things on the right are pads, used to play sounds coming from a sound bank. IE : snaps during "underpressure", big snare for "hammer to fall" etc... Just like the Octapad used during the Magic Tour and the electronic pads used on the previous tours (works, hotspace...) .
Hope this helps :)
Yep that's correct I can't for the life of me remember there names, they didn't last long. but effectively they are triggers for samples, maybe hand claps etc.
I think they were made by Roland but not sure they seemed to come and go almost as quickly and Roger was the only professional drummer I ever saw using them.
It's a trigger 'bar' connected to a sound module (nowadays would be something like Roland TD20, Yamaha DTXTreme, DDdrum 4SE etc..) - I think the one he used at the FM Tribute was a DDrum one, but I'm not 100% sure. Yamaha, Roland, Pintech etc... all make them - (I use a Yamaha BP80)
