True Queen fans share positive info on their favorite band and support their old and new songs, concerts, and anything else related to Queen. It makes me sick to see some people who claim to like or love Queen condemn them for their beliefs, choices that tey made for their careers or lives. I personally love Queen. Their music was and is still great, loads of talent, good looking and very smart.Freddie's wonderful vocal range, all their awesome writing and musical abilites,Paul's great voice, Brian's totally awesome guitar playing [he makes aguitar sing], and all their other amazing talent. |

One might add that Paul 'rogers' Queen, ha ha ha ha ha. Damn I'm funny |
DeeEmm 03.05.2006 04:04 |
I'm a Queen fan, sure. Definitely not one of those people who's only heard Greatest Hit albums. But my definition of Queen is something that includes Freddie Mercury - Queen died when Freddie Mercury did. Made in Heaven was their last album. Anything else after that is not Queen, it's merely 75% or even 50% Queen. I consider No-One But You the last Queen song recorded. Anything that Brian May and Roger Taylor records with Paul Rodgers is most definitely not Queen - Paul Rodgers has NOTHING to do with Queen. In fact, I'm not exactly supportive of their decision to tour again. It's a mixed bag, really. But touring is where I draw the line. Of course old fans would love to see Queen rock it on stage again even if it doesn't include Freddie Mercury and that's acceptable because Brian May and Roger Taylor can hold the stage decentlyish by themselves, but a studio album, if it comes out, is going WAY too far. They might as well rename themselves, or form a new band with Paul Rodgers - no need to slander the good name of Queen. A few years ago Brian May and Roger Taylor recorded a rap version of We Will Rock You with a boy band. That's just going way too far. Just my $0.02. |

I'm a true fan and they can do wheatever they want, i really don't care, i enjoy the music, yes freddie is dead, what can i do? nothin, if they are touring for the money, that's ok, it's their music, if they chose paul rodgers as a singer, that's ok. As i've said before, I can push play to my old cds and listen again their albums, for me that's the best. And as a true fan, i support the idea of an album, like millions of fans suppor the idea of ACDC tourin with a new singer back in the late 70's, like tons of bands, but well... |

I'm a true Queen fan. I would do anything to meet them again. Brian, Freddie and Roger are my idols! I know i'm missing out John but he isn't what I call my idol. I just respect him alot and he is just as important as the rest in the band. |

Right, OK. If we like Queen, we are true Queen fans. Whether we like Queen + Paul Rodgers is irrelevant to that. Can we drop this now? bonnzzo 03.05.2006 15:11 |
You guys are acting childish and splitting hairs. All the DVD'S released after Freddies death up till 100 yrs from now that have the original line up is considered Queen. The tour with paul rodgers with john sitting at home is not Queen. A studio album with Bri, Rog and Paul with Danny Marandia, or who ever is not Queen. Like I said yesterday if this line up stays together for 10 or 15 years then you can proberly begin to have the conversation that this could be called Queen, like AC/DC post Bon Scott. I just think that some you just love to nitpick peoples comments. |
bonnzzo 03.05.2006 15:32 |
Once again, I don’t won’t to keep bringing it up, but what if Paul and Ringo went out on a tour and promoted themselves as the Beatles. How would true fans of the Beatles take that? How would fans of George and John take that? Or what it they brought in a front man and promoted it like Queen and Paul Rodgers and called it “The Beatles and (insert name)”. Would the Beatles name fly? Would it be the Beatles or the next best thing to the Beatles? Would true Beatles fans go in throngs to see them? Yes! Did they go in throngs to see Queen and Paul Rodgers? Yes! Is the Beatles as a band no more? Yes. Is the Beatles as a name as far as being in our conscience or making money dead? No. Same thing applies to Queen. |

true queen fan, i became a fan of queen in 1975 i was 22 years old, so i grew up with them so to speak, thru the really good times thru thier ruff times and thru the bad times. i am 53 now, and consider myself a queen fan i love thier music and what they gave us, thier fans all these years. showstopping brillance and proffesional showmanship, they are still queen to me that will never change, bri and roger still play and sing, they chose after 20 years to bring the music back and so what they do best, so paul rogers is singing with them? so what that is thier decision i respect that, life goes on, freddie has been gone for 15 years, he would say go for it, who the fuck cares, they are giving their music to a whole new generation to hear, in all honesty the "fans" who just found queen would they have found them if queen was not on tour and the soungs an publicity were not getting heard by a new generation? i choose to stick with them thru the good the bad and the ugly. is this the real life or is it just fantasy. |

OK, first off... "It makes me sick to see some people who claim to like or love Queen condemn them for their beliefs, choices that they made for their careers or lives. " Why do I need to blindly accept everything they do as gospel truth to be a fan? That is ridiculous. I don't agree with some of Brian's politics, and I severely disagree with Freddie having unprotected sex, so therefore I am not a fan? Pure drivel. I went to the Q+PR concert, and I am damn proud of it. It had been over 20 years since they had played my neck of the woods, and I jumped at a chance to see them, even though "it wouldn't be the same" as everyone around me seemed to think. Well, you know what? I wouldn't know. I never had an opportunity to see Freddie perform live, beings that I was 10 the last time they came to Wisconsin. For me, seeing Roger and Brian was a dream come true. I thought it would never happen and it did, and I am damn grateful. If you think that Brian and Roger have no right to call themselves Queen, more power to you. They can call themselves the Highest Supreme Beings Ever if they tour and perform and keep going, and I wouldn't mind. I'll bet if Ringo and Paul wanted to tour as the Beatles, their concert would sell out. There are plenty of bands that have had members die or quit and they still carry on in spite of it (sometimes positive sometimes not.)- Skynrd (practically the entire band is dead), ACDC (Bon Scott??), The Who (Keith Moon), The Rolling Stones (Brian Jones), Evanescence (they are currently working on a new album even though the guy who wrote all the songs quit), Pink Floyd (crap, can't remember the guy's name- the one who is in an asylum), Van Halen, Styx (Dennis DeYoung quit), Genesis (completely reinvented themselves after Peter Gabriel left). Many other bands have broken up and reformed under different names as well. What’s the big freakin deal? If there are people on here that are happy to call the current lineup Queen, what does it matter to you? Freddie’s gone; John wants to live a quiet life- he's earned it. He has not publicly stated that he's against it, so who cares? I can appreciate Queen as it were, and I can appreciate it now- what’s wrong with that? I used to have that mindset- that Queen was it, any deviation was an abomination- and remake of their music was a sin, and anyone who made fun of them was an evil overlord. Getting older changes your views. I enjoyed American Idol (except Kellie and Paris). I thought Ace's version of WWRW was rather refreshing. I wasn't so wild about William Hung showing up on TV singing WATC in Freddie’s black and white unitard, so I just avoided it. Point blank, if you don't like it, ignore it, and don't spoil it for the people who want to appreciate it. |
