hello people i have the freddie mercury tribute concert on cd. it doesnt have the whole concert on there but it is not a bootleg either. i was wondering if any of you guys have this one
thanks for your input i hope some other reply too. thanks. it has a white cover with a small picure of freddie on it. if no ones has it i wonder if it is worth something?
Im looking at my DVD right now, it has a drawing of Freddie and says Queen + across him at like an up-right angle.
Ive never seen this as a CD. you might want to check Amazon or Ebay to see if there's others on it.
I also have the FM Tribute CD...I believe it was released in 1992 in Europe...possibly on a limited amount basis...David Bowie's Our Father was the last track I have on my copy...Peace!!!
yes i does have freddie doing this. my friend gave it to me and he never told me where he got it. so i dont know where it came from. what a find though
I saw that same CD many many years ago back in 1993 at a tiny record shop down the street from where I used to live...that CD shop closed after a year of shitty sales, and I never saw that CD. But yes it has a picture of Freddie on the cover from the 'I Want It All' video raising his arms up...I wish I could have gotten my hands on that CD, but didn't have the money for it at the time I saw it (I was only 12 or 13 at the time). Yes, you definately have a rare CD on your hands...if you could only upload it on here, but everyone would have a shit fit because it is technically official material!!
I have a 3 CD set of the concert which I believe was released by the Italian Fan Club. It has the whole concert on it and the covers all have a large eagle (probably meant to be a phoenix) wrapped in ribbon which says "Thank You Freddie". There is also a booklet with photos and info. The whole thing is boxed in an LP sized box with the same eagle image on the front and the tracklisting on the reverse.
It doesn't sound like what you have, as Bowie's Lord's Prayer is half way through Disc 3, but as far as I am aware, this is the closest to an "official" release on CD there is.
Note: I found the cover on Google: link
It defintately is!
A friend I knew back in 1992/1993 had it, I heard the CD back then, and no way it can be an official release. The quality simply is too bad.
Is "Robert Taylor" written on the back of the album instead of Roger? :)
I have this FM Tribute bootleg album, which I saw only once and bought many years ago, and Roger is called Robert on the album LOL.
Anyway it isn't one of the rarest Queen related albums, but still it's quite uncommon...
Yes, perhaps. I also have MTV version (1 hour) of this concert - it has different footages here and there (especially during WWRY). I bought one boo... sorry, pirate VHS tape in the first half of 90s - there were this MTV version and complete GF2 with ultra-long version of RadioGaGa promo video (that "Thanks to Metropolis!" line shows there for over one minute and music is still playing in background).

It's a PIRATE.
Whatever this one is... it is no way an official release!
And to add what someone said before in this thread: This CD was released before the commercial VHS was released, I remember my old friend having the CD before the VHS was in the shops.

Its NITPICKING.
But for the record, the CD in question came out before the VHS and laserdisc versions and long before the DVD, so at the time it was first available, it was a BOOTLEG and not a PIRATE, because there was no official release of the show available from which to PIRATE it. "When are you people gonna learn" indeed.
Sorry for the delay in the answer.
All the mentioned releases are of course unofficial, mainly bootlegs sourced either from the BBC or USA pay-per-view TV broadcastings. Many were released before the official VHS/LD issues and have songs not included on them (like Innuendo).
The one you have it is not particularly rare.
