As a response to the thread 'Best Album Opener' link
What do you think is the best ending to an album?
For me GSTQ from ANATO definately does it!
Other ones:
Qu: Seven seas of Rhye short version - Sorry, sounds like they just thought 'We want to add this small idea at the end of the album, although we're not quite finshied with it'
QuII: Seven seas of rhye complete version - It's OK, but not my favorite, sounds a little to me like 'we just end the album with the single'
SHA: In the lap of the gods...revisited - Is a good album closer to me, a real singalong-song with a huge explosion at the end
ANATO: God save the queen - definately the best album closer of any album. What could be better to close a Queen album with?
ADATR: Teo torriatte/Outro - Very good ending, Teo torriatte is a real singalong-song after which the everlasting stairway of the beginning comes back
NOTW: My melancholy blues - I'm not really convinced, because it has a fade out. It leaves you in the easy mood, but I'd rather prefer a real ENDING to an album
Jazz: More of that jazz - Is OK to me, but that's mostly because of the fragments of other songs that appear at the end
TG: Save me - Sounds good to me, a very emotional song, and the last piano chord leaves you in the mood of the song when silence follows
FG: The hero - Of course a good ending, because it's the closing theme of the movie
HS: Under pressure - I didn't like the opening of the album, and I don't like the closing either. It's simply the 'hitsingle' at the end because it don't seem to fit better elsewhere
TW: Is this the world we created? - Sounds good to me, as a small beautiful song at the end
AKOM: Princes of the universe - Although I really love this song, it definately doesn't work for me as the album closer. It just ends to abrupt for me for that.
On the CD 'Forever' is the last track (extra tracks) which works better for me, but this doesn't really count
TM: Was it all worth it - This is a good closer as an song, although I don't completely like the last tones fading away as the last tones of the album.
On the CD again extra tracks, and Invisible Man 12" Version is ofcourse not a good closing song, it's just an extra track added to the real album
Inn: The show must go on - Obvious but perfect choice as an ending to the last Queen-album-when-Freddie-was-alive
MIH:
On CD: Track 13 - Ofcourse this works when you're right in the mood, but I don't think this can be counted as a very good closer to any album, it's just too specific for this album
On vinyl: It's a beautiful day reprise - The idea works, because the album start the same way, but I absolutely don't like the abrupt ending 'Yeah' as the last tones of the album
FREDDIE MERCURY:
MBG: Love me like there's no tomorrow - I like the song very much, but I just don't like it when the last song of an album fades out
Barc: Ouverture Piccante - It's OK, because it uses samples from all other tracks in a new way, but it's not e real 'song' to me. The last réál song however (How can I go on) wouldn't be good as a closer, because it fades out (see MBG)
TFMA or TGP: Barcelona or Love kills wolf mix - Barce;ona simply doesn't fit on the album and Love kills has a fade out. Sorry I don't understand the reason of these being the closers of the albums
BRIAN MAY
BTTL: Rollin' over/Outro - Although Rollin Over is not really my favorite track, I kinda like the way how it segues into the outro, which is the same as the intro of the album, but then playing backwards.
AW: Another world - It's the title track that ends the album, but this time it holds a good mood when you finish the album. The CD has a hidden bonus track after that, which sounds nice as an extra, but can't be counted the 'real' closer IMO.
ROGER TAYLOR:
FIS: Fun in space - I like the idea of the long space ending to the album

I think The Show Must Go On from Innuendo
Omg yeah! Still I think Coming Soon would be good.... But yeah Save Me is added to my list and how could I forget The Show Must Go On! AND A Winters Tale! One of my favourite Queen songs.
