After all these idiots slating the whole Queen and Paul Rodgers thing, i thought i'd start a new topic to show my appreciation for them! i am so lucky that they decided to tour again so i could have the chance to actually see the band live, and i can't think of a better singer to tour with them (NOT replace Freddie), certainly a better choice than Robbie Williams i'd say. So what if Freddie and John weren't involved, get over it, what's the point in saying "Queen died in '91" n "Paul Rodger's" sucks" over and over again, cos you know it aint true. |

I loved the tour, couldnt go to any concerts, but ROTC is one of my fav DVD´s |
mayniac316 23.04.2006 20:38 |
I loved the tour too. I really appreciate them doing it. It's not like they had to. Paul brings a grittier, bluesier voice to the songs... which I kinda like actually. I think his voice goes really well with Brian's guitar sound. Plus, he one of the best singers I have ever heard. |

lets keep this thread goin, i like positive feedback! |

I'm entitled to my opinion, I'm not saying it's horrible but playing songs that are a 100 years old without anything new is nothing special. If you little kids want to make a big deal out of ROTC and make Mr. rodgers (I actually like him) be my guest. remember, know one in the rock world gives a shit that queen and paul played together, it's a non issue in the rock world. The little kids that make me sick are all these threads "who sings queen songs better" give me a fucking break you losers! |

Justice 24.04.2006 06:24 |
Mike - I don't give a flying fuck about your opinion. However your response reeked of condescending arrogance. "I didn't think it anything special" is opinion and fine. Saying "sorry to spoil your party but this tour was not anything special", as though it were fact, makes you sound like a know it all cunt. Having said that, the fact that you consider it nothing special shows what a cynical bastard you are, and how stunningly out of touch with reality you are. Since when is making thousands of people happy, with many of them declaring "best night of my life", nothing special? Jesus, I truly pity you. I'd hate to be next to you on an airplane, you'd make me want to hijack it and fly it into a mountain. |

now,the point here is that queen and paul did rock on the tour.however, fans who saw queen live prior to 1987 know that they were awesome live.now,no matter how hard we try, that line up will never perform again, period.the fact that queen are back on the road doing their thing to entertain the masses is brilliant in its own way and should be encouraged, not slagged off.the more people who get to see the band live will appreciate what us longer serving fans have always known, queen kick ass, long may they reign |

We have one thread saying he rocks and one that says Rodger's should suck ass. Make up your mind people.... they have come and there's nothing you or anyone can do, no matter how many times you shout or make threads about it. :) |

I never said paul was crap, I actually agree he's probably in the top ten of the greatest frontmen ever. Yes I did see them on this tour, Like I said, it was pretty good but nothing special. I'v seen hundred plus shows in my time and I could honestly say "it was nothing special" my fav moments were "let there be drums" "last horizon" and when they had freddie on the big screen for Bo Rhap. I like paul but he was non exsistent for me, it's like he wasn't even there. The bottom line!....it was a decent show. |
mike hunt 25.04.2006 01:44 |
I find it funny that we on queenzone could put down half of queens albums, calling anything past 1977 crap, hot space, the works, the miracle, live at wembly all suck ass, that's ok to say, but calling queen + paul "nothing special" is not allowed. |
Justice 25.04.2006 20:54 |
Learn to read english jackass. It wasn't what you said but the way you said it. You're entitled to your opinion, but if honestly believed you could deliver it in the way you did and not get flamed then you're pretty fucking stupid. "I didn't think it was anything special" - statement of opinion. Perfectly fine. "sorry to spoil your party but this tour was not anything special." - reads like a statement of fact. You may think it so, but sorry champ, your useless opinion is anything but fact. |
mike hunt 26.04.2006 01:48 |
your right, my opinion isn't fact, but your opinion is just as useless as mine!...My useless opinion says brian and roger are two washed up musicians. Actually it's been downhill for these fellows since november 1991. Queen 1991 RIP. |
Justice 26.04.2006 03:18 |
Yes my opinion is every bit of useless as yours, which is why I didn't give it. The only problem I had was with your attitude. |
mike hunt 26.04.2006 03:56 |
you don't have to like my attitude, just like I don't like majority of queenzoners attitudes!...It's bullshit that people could say freddie mercury is overated or 80's queen is crap (half their albums) but to put down paul rodgers is forbidden!...is this a queen or paul rodgers site?...I support anything queen, That means from 1971 to 1991. I don't have to be a rodgers lover just because he's working with brian and roger, talk about stefords!... |

I don't get it, all these people knocking Queen for going out with Rodgers, would you rather they go away and never be heard from again or what?Ive been a fan for a long time and Ive seen them with Freddie and with Paul and they were all good shows, you got to stop comparing Paul to Freddie ,their not the same nor should they be.It is what it is and really Freddie would be the first to say who gives a shit?just enjoy the fuckn' thing. |

the closest i came to the queen and paul rogers thing was my exwife saw them she called me after the concert and she was crying, and said it was great, but she never could even remember any of the lyrics so she dosnt know that much about queen except for hearing me play the songs for 23 years i guess if i had still been in atlanta with her i would have seen them but im really glad i didnt see either one,i saw queen 3 times before i know it wasnt as good as before so ill live without.i wish they had stayed home and made a queen album without paul rogers instead im sure roger and brian could come up with something, they must not get along with each other to well or they could make an album with just them 2 or 3 if john can come out of the house |
lozitopj 01.05.2006 10:38 |
They certainly did in Cleveland where I saw them...When they do another tour w/a new album hopefully more people will join this bandwagon...Paul Rodgers was awesome!!!!...Cheers!!! |
zone 01.05.2006 11:55 |
I have to say I did support the tour it was great fun and to see them again was fantastic, but I'm still on the fence about them recording under the Queen name.It would be interesting to hear what they would come up with but maybe under May, Taylor and Rodgers. |
Nathan 01.05.2006 12:25 |
I agree. Having viewed and listened to 'Return of the Champions' on DVD and CD, I can honestly say that this is a great way to keep the Queen spirit alive for younger generations to enjoy. I can't understand why some people dislike it so much. A studio album would be great too. |
roy_fokker 01.05.2006 14:01 |
I agree... a May-Rodgers-Taylor project would be great. I mean... together they work better than alone... and, sincerely a studio version of The Call and Say it's not trye, a better version of Invincible hope and, why not, a studio version of Take Love aren't a good basis for a record? It would be great to have them sharing lead vocals, as they did in the Queen+PR tour. I think that fans should encourage them to go on... ... before the dream is over at all. |
