THEY SAID THAT INNUENDO WAS NOT PLAYED BECAUSE IS NOT A GOOD SONG (?????)... FIRST IS ONE OF THE 10 BEST SONGS OF QUEEN AND SECOND YOU IDIOTS... THEY NEVER PLAYED THE SONG BECAUSE OF THE FREDDIE´S CONDITION, IF THE ALBUM IS FROM 1991, WHY DIDN´T PLAY THAT???? THINK!!!! YOU FUCKING INSECTS... IN THE USA SHOWS DURING THE "UNKNOWN QUEEN SONGS" OR PAUL´S SONGS YOU GO TO THE TOILETTE OR BUY FOOD... YOU SUCKS!!!!! YOU WATCH THE SHOW WITH A BEER IN ONE HAND AND A HOT DOG IN ANOTHER... Blah blah blah, CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. I'm not picking on you masterstroke_84 but who gives a fcuk what Simon Cowbell says? We like Queen and we know their music. Simon likes things like Boy bands and Ill Devil. He is more interested in selling product than finding unique talent. Go listen to Innuendo(the whole CD) and enjoy yourself. BTW turn your Caps off. The yelling hurts my eyes :) |

OK, you know what bothers me, when some person thinks just because a few americans are not as fond of queen as other people, all americans are like that, now listen, as you can tell I'm american, and Queen is without a doubt one of the greatest bands who we have seen, so before you go and call all americans insects, think of the few exceptions, like me, I understand if Freddie was healthy enough he would have without a doubt have sang innuendo. And one more thing not all americans are beer chugging fat asses. |

> IS THE ONLY THIS I CAN SAY AFTER SEEING THE SHOW... So because of three people (one of which is not Yank) you're judging three hundred millions? > THEY (AMERICANS) DONT KNOW SHIT OF QUEEN OR ANY GOOD BAND IN THE WORLD Ridiculous comment from beginning to end. > THEY NAMED INNUENDO A BAD SONG... "They" is actually just one person, who btw is English. > THEY SAID THAT INNUENDO WAS NOT PLAYED BECAUSE IS NOT A GOOD SONG No, Paula said that Innuendo wasn't played because they probably couldn't handle it. > FIRST IS ONE OF THE 10 BEST SONGS OF QUEEN It's not an absolute. I like it a lot, but Simon (or anybody else for that matter) is entitled not to. I admit I didn't like it when I first heard it, then it grew on me. Simon probably has only listened to it once (if ever), and even if he definitely didn't like it, it doesn't make him an idiot. I do find his "bad song" comment sort of rude, but it's his opinion and I agree to disagree. > AND SECOND YOU IDIOTS... THEY NEVER PLAYED THE SONG BECAUSE OF THE FREDDIE´S CONDITION, IF THE ALBUM IS FROM 1991, WHY DIDN´T PLAY THAT???? Do you think it's mandatory for every person (American or not) to be graduated in Queen's history? > IN THE USA SHOWS DURING THE "UNKNOWN QUEEN SONGS" OR PAUL´S SONGS YOU GO TO THE TOILETTE OR BUY FOOD... And how does that affect you? > YOU WATCH THE SHOW WITH A BEER IN ONE HAND AND A HOT DOG IN ANOTHER... Is that a crime? > I FUCKING HATE THAT SHOWS Then why do you waste your time by watching that shows (sic)? > NOT ONLY ARE LESS-INFORMED ABOUT QUEEN HISTORY... It's not a crime. > ALSO DONT HAVE EARS BECAUSE ALL THE SONGS WERE AWWWFUL... They weren't. Some of them, not all of them. > APPLAUD WHEN THE APPLAUD LIGHT WAS ON... STUPIDS!!!!!!!!!! If you say so... > SORRY ABOUT THIS BUT I NEED TO LET IT GO.. Take a pill or something. If you get this brassed off over a show that, according to you, doesn't deserve attention, how would you sort a real problem? It's not good to your heart. Stay tuned with the Teletubbies and Sesame Street, unless of course you think they're total pants if Cookiemon ever forgets the name of Roger's granma. > I'm not picking on you masterstroke_84 but who gives a fcuk what Simon Cowbell says? He's probably being payed for being conceited and harsh, who knows what does he really think about Innuendo or Taylor's CLTCL performance... > Simon likes things like Boy bands and Ill Devil. They are indeed wonderful imo. > He is more interested in selling product than finding unique talent. Can you read his mind? > Go listen to Innuendo(the whole CD) and enjoy yourself. But don't take it too far ;) > I understand if Freddie was healthy enough he would have without a doubt have sang innuendo. Indeed I think that he'd probably be able to sing it in 1989 (which was when the song was recorded), the only problem was that he couldn't pass a medical exam for a tour. > And one more thing not all americans are beer chugging fat asses You're right, I've got some few American friends and they're nice. There are all sorts of people everywhere, from Tokyo to LA and from Cape Town to Moscow. It's laughable and unfair to draw absolute stereotypes. |

SALUDOS!!!!! |

Could it be that Queen haven't played Innuendo on a proper tour because, they last toured 5 years before the song was recorded. For the current tour, they can only do so many songs, and with the extra PR songs included there wasn't enough time. And finally, didn't Robert Plant sing Innuendo with Queen at the FMTC in '92?? |
Sebastian 20.04.2006 09:09 |
> I just saw the show because Brian and Rog be there commenting some songs...nothing else.. Let me get this straight: you think the show is total pants, but if those two individuals appear there then you watch it. Well, it does say a lot about your criteria. > Its ok man... I was kinda mad at the time... Really? Didn't notice ;) > maybe when they make shit with Queen They didn't. Well, some of them did. Katherine's a superb singer but she made a real hash of Forever. > and talk shit about Queen I go crazy... As I said, it's not mandatory to know the history of the band. They can live without it. > Im sorry for that... i was not talking of everybody... Fair enough. > I was very rude... Indeed. > but is Queen... is almost my life... There's where I disagree. A friendly advice: Queen were a great band, they did wonderful music and had got excellent (and inspirational) lyrics, but that's it, full stop. They haven't got to become an obsession or "almost your life". > and i dont want to anyone be unrespectful with Queen.. But you can't. If you like the band so much, then enjoy their music and ignore whatever mordacious critics say. All in all, if you cannot accept a negative comment (well-informed or not) about a band, then what's gonna happen when you face a real problem? > Stop hating on US-Americans!!! Stop hating!! "That time will come, one day you'll see, when we can all be friends". > If they knew how to sing they would start their own bands long time ago. They're definitely better as solo artists, which requires a more difficult start. > But they don't, and stupid people watch it like its Second or Third coming of Jesus. Pathetic. There I agree. I seldom watch the show, mostly because my father enjoys it and he's got it on TV whenever I visit him, so it's one of those "father and son" bonding things... but I don't get why some people are so obsessed about such things. It's just a show, not a life-changing experience. > You are not "American".. You are from United States... America is a continent... not a country...ok??... Sort of. But all in all Simon Cowell isn't American. Not from the US, not from Canada, not from Nicaragua... > Okay...I have to agree with you on that...we do pretty much steal everything...lol Indeed. Americans get the best of Japan and give their worst. And it's very sad how in Tokyo any Yank thing gets ridiculously overrated... > me gustaria unir fuerzas para que dejen de escribir estupideces como el topico de la enfermedad de Freddie Whether you like it or not, some (not all) of those topics might not be stupid for the ones who post there. Likewise, many people wouldn't bother to get in here, since they don't care about American Idol. > siento que esta pagina se lleno de mucha gente que no sabe ni puta idea de lo que es Queen Well, that's true, unfortunately. All in all, nobody's born with the knowledge. > no puedo entender que haya gente que no sabe que Dear Friends es de Brian It's not a crime. "Nadie nace sabiendo". > And finally, didn't Robert Plant sing Innuendo with Queen at the FMTC in '92?? Yes, it seems like everybody's ashamed about that and they're trying to pretend it never happened... |

Idols one of the worst facets of American culture, but you can't blame a country of 300 Million people for that. And we are all on this site because we are Queen fans, and it allows us as QUEEN fans to come together no matter our location... And lets kick out any hate we may have... Although, I live in the US and get very angry at the way we handle things... But im no good at politics anyways... You are right, DreaminQueen and thenplayon! And my point was never to offend you as I hope you understand. I really wasn't sure if you were aware about the dislike of Bush, but clearly you are. And so; love to you! stay strong! When it comes to disrespecting Queen...; I am an old Swedish Queen-fan and so I remember how the media totally put them down through out all the eighties. The critics just couldn't stand Freddie Mercury and had to put that in writing - no matter how great performances or recordings they delivered. An old review of Jazz claimed that Freddie was destroying the recordings with his screaming and that he should leave the singing totally to Brian. Mostly the media wasn't interested and even on the day of Freddie's death the leading critic of Swedens -at that time- biggest newspaper couldn't keep from writing about how he thought they were lacking vision and how all critics agree they don't like the band. Soon after there was a complete change. Everybody loved Queen and their music was played a lot on the radio. Ironically, at that time, it only hurt me to hear Freddie sing "Show must go on". Had to turn the radio off... So you see; Queen has been very unappreciated in many parts of the world throughout their carreer. Maybe that's another thing that makes them even greater when you find out you love them. Those who can't see and hear their greatness... Too bad, too sad. Misguided old mules? |

"It is interesting, though, how USA foreign politics has created so much dislike in the rest of the world. I am not sure if you americans are aware? " OK, I am probably going to get flamed for this but comments like this really PISS ME OFF. We bust our asses to help other countries out when they need it- give money, expertise, food, you name it, and then are criticized and told its not enough, even though we give more than anyone else. We loan money to other countries, pretty much knowing they won't pay it back. We not only have to take care of our own, but now we will have to take care of millions of immigrants that are here illegally. For decades, we have let people come in from other countries, no questions asked, and willingly help to make them citizens. (BTW, this has been going on LONG before Dubya took office- so we can't blame him for everything). I personally work with a refugee from Kosovo who got here on a refugee visa, was made a citizen in 5 years, given a house by Habitat for Humanity, given job assistance and English lessons, and now has a decent paying job (under a great boss might I add). We can't even have a national language because we are so afraid of offending people. Of course, there are things that go wrong, but no government is perfect. So... all French people are rude and cowardly, all Germans are cruel bigots, all Russians are communists, all Mexicans are lazy, all Africans have Aids and do drugs, and all British have a bug up their collective asses. I don't truly believe this, but doesn't it offend you when you are grouped in with stereotypes from your nationality? Think about it and quit telling us Americans how stupid and terrible we are. America does a lot of good for other countries, and I am getting sick of hearing about all the negative stuff. Sorry to be so long winded- and its acually very rare that I go off on a political rant. I even did some research into this before posting, its taken me about an hour to write this, and then probably another hour to decide to send it because I don't want to offend people. I guess what I am trying to say about all this, is can we please leave political assumptions and stereotypes out of the conversations here? I have noticed this on other threads and was actually offended by it. Personally, I'm a Midwestern woman (Fond du Lac, WI) with a husband and a child. I work full time, love my family, try to be a good person, volunteer when I can, go to church, and paid top dollar to see my favorite band in the world, and took the American Idol stuff with a grain of salt. I am fairly new to this group, so if all the sterotyping comments and stuff is normal, and no one if offended by it, forgive me for butting in- and I'll try to go with the flow. If its not normal, I would appreciate it if it would stop. Oh, and to the OP- you need some serious psychological intervention if you are THAT obsessed with a music group. |

If its not normal, I would appreciate it if it would stop.Thats a good point of view. And I agree with alot of what you had to say. I was rather offended by the original posters comments, but then again, as i previously mentioned, i can kinda see where these stereotypes happen... but it didnt make it any less hurtful to me... But Queen doesnt get that much recognition in the US, thats my opinion, and overall whats popular by todays standards is far from what id consider good music, but my opinion doesnt count in that aspect, because im pretty much the black sheep of my generation, i dont follow current trends, i dont listen to current music. I used to, but it didnt suit my personality and i found stuff I liked becuase I liked it... But lets stop all this hate and just enjoy the one thing that sooo many (not all necessarily) of us here have in common, we all love Queen, but lets not bash and make generalizations on eachothers societies (I.E we dont know good rock music etc, so and so is ignorant etc) because its only causing bigger rifts in the world... And if i had my way, id get rid of all weapons and find a way for equ |

DreaminQueen - I think you're right on target! Peace! Aril - I'm wondering if I have to appologize to you? But no. If my comment pissed you off then that's just what my wondering was about. I think it's interesting, though, to hear your side of the story and as long as we're not at each others throats WHY NOT talk politics? Why not enlighten each other with experience of what it is like to live in USA/Argentina/Sweden/Netherlands and so on. We all love Queen so let's use that as a start to love each other. All the good things can unfortanately not make up for the bad things and I think that is why Bush's way of handling the worldscene is raising so much opinion. When you are the most powerful country in the world you have to use that power very carefully. And what I meant with the question if you were aware was this; Some things look different depending on from which side you look. You have your perspective from history, social situation and mediareportation (is there any such word? Have mercy on my english, by the way. Don't forget It's not my first language). So take a step back, Aril. I respect your opinion but it sounds to me like you are afraid to question what's going on in the world. Let's not stop questioning. Let's be curious. Like DreaminQueen put it: "let's not generate stereotypes because our politicians don't make good decisions." And let me add; let's rise above these decisions. Using our minds. Using love. Mastertroke - You've been awful quiet since your last outbreak. Let's start anew. I know Queen gave some great performances in Brazil. Why don't you tell us something about Queen in Argentina? Finally; I live in Sweden and I think it is overall a great country to live in, but still there's some weird stuff going down. I'm not kidding... |

" I rarely if ever discuss religion and politics because there simply is no point. We can preach and diatribe until we are blue in the face and we will never be in agreement or sway the other to our side. I gave you my experience in my previous post- I live my life, I vote for who I think will do the best job, and try to be a good person. I don't speculate on other countries governments because I don't have all the facts to judge them, and trying to find unbiased facts are impossible- esp in the US. "All the good things can unfortanately not make up for the bad things and I think that is why Bush's way of handling the worldscene is raising so much opinion. When you are the most powerful country in the world you have to use that power very carefully. You have your perspective from history, social situation and mediareportation (is there any such word? Have mercy on my english, by the way. Don't forget It's not my first language)." Everyone bashes Bush and his handling of how things are going- however, the media never represents the good things that are happening. They concentrate on the number of people killed in the war in Iraq, but conveniently forget the slaughters perpetrated by Hussein before we got rid of him. The media in the Us is particularly one sided. "So take a step back, Aril. Using love." I do agree, and I do question a lot of what goes on in our country. We have a horrible health care system (unless you have REALLY good insurance, which I do thank God), our schools are a mess, our government is a never ending beaurocracy that can't make even simple decisions without releasing a 3000 page report on it, etc etc etc.. it never ends. I even question the war- I was for it at first, but as it drags on, I wonder what point there is. I see some good- people getting an education for the first time, and being able to speak out without fear of Saddam crashing down on them. Some places have potable drinking water for the first time in years, and they have the freedom to choose who they want to run their country, and fight over it, and still keep their religion the way they like. Heck, they even had their first ever "Iraqi Idol"- what progress. I also see the bad- the insurgency, the bombings, the loss of life. As with most wars, the outcome will not be known for years- whether it was beneficial or not. In 100 years, a grateful Iraqi nation could give the US free oil for the rest of time, or send a bomb over to thank us for screwing up even worse. Time will tell. My main point on this whole thing was basically what Dreamin Queen said- as you so kindly re-stated above. I have been hearing more and more in other places about how much America is hated, and I think the people that spout that need to take a step back as well. I am not an "ugly American". The America that I see steps in and helps in a crisis, even though we are torn within by our own people sniping at each other- some saying "ourselves first" and some |

I had to add- this comment cracked me up... "Do you ever wonder why 7 of 10 houses in USA have under-ground refugees??..." Um.. they are called basements, cellars, crawl spaces etc...- we store stuff in them. They've been in use since pioneer times for cold storage in the summer since its cooler underground. Some people do their laundry down there, some make it a recreational area, and they are useful for when the tornados come. Oh, I frequently use mine to chain up ignorant Argentinians who shoot their mouths off over stupid crap. I make them wear women's underwear and dance for me- and no one can hear them scream... |

Enlightening, indeed... Thank you, Aril. I realize I agree with a lot of what you are saying and do not agree with some, and I am glad you tell me your point of view. Peace! I'm not sure if I quite understood the example upon media coverage, really? However, I think Swedish media is very interested in the big american acts. And to my knowledge a lot of succesful european bands have never made it in the US. But let's also remember nowadays it's easier to spread the music and the information about bands. During those years when Queen were active it was quite a different thing. You were completely in the hands of your mediareportation(not this word again! It doesn't sound right, but I guess I'll keep using it until someone corrects me). Masterstroke... What's cooking? |

all in all this has been a very enlightening discussion and even more it was nice to see as minimal mud slinging as possible. So thanks Slap the P and Aril for your points of view. And i think its important that we all share our worldviews like this, and with an open mind because it allows learning for everyone and it can really lead to a mutual respect internationally. Because as Slap the P perfectly articulated, everyone has a different point of view depending on so many things (location, experiences etc) And Masterstoke dear do you have more to say? i would like to know how youre feeling now... And how are things??? I would be willing to be friends, even if we could start somewhere as simple as talking about Queen! (something apparently you and i have a SERIOUS love of) and share your Queen experiences with us! So i hope its safe to say we are all friends here now i hope?? |

Slap the P wrote: You were completely in the hands of your mediareportation(not this word again! It doesn't sound right, but I guess I'll keep using it until someone corrects me).If you are talking about journalistic media, such as the television news, the newspaper, magazines, etc., you can just use "the media." For example, you could have said, "You were completely in the hands of the media." If you are talking about record company promotion, then "promotion" would be a great term to use. "You were completely in the hands of your (media/record company) promotion." I'm sure there are other ways of expressing it, however, mediareportation is wrong (if anything, it would be "media reporting," as reportation is not a word). |

And they're kinda destroying themselves at the same time with their reckless behavior...
