Am i the only one who think that "Delilah" is a good song? in fact, it´s my favorite song on the Innuendo Album, then " I can´t Live With You" Is there someone who disagree with me, please post your opinion, thanks :) |
rosedewitt 19.04.2006 15:20 |
it's not my favourite song on the innuendo and i think there are better songs on that album, but i think it's such a sweet song, and i like it ;) |
Daburcor? 19.04.2006 15:22 |
I love Delilah. Always have, always will. :) |
Micrówave 19.04.2006 15:46 |
I'm afraid to like it. Too "Vito" for me. |
deleted user 19.04.2006 15:57 |
I love that song... In fact, I've started a following for it by making crazy cat-loving people listen to it. My dad's petite-amie made me bring the "Innuendo" CD over just for that song... I think our family loves this song because Freddie sang MUCH better than my mom can. Let's say, long before we discovered this song, she had "written" songs about our cats. They were, sadly, horrible. The songs - not the cats. |
teleman 19.04.2006 16:13 |
Not among my favourite songs on Innuendo but I played it a few times last year when my cat died. It's okay but not great. |
flash! 28068 19.04.2006 16:18 |
I love it! So sweet! So cute! Makes me want to get another cat! Combination of the two cutest things - Freddie and cats! |
August R. 19.04.2006 18:08 |
Nope. The worst song on Innuendo, imo. Sorry! |
Freddie_Jr. 19.04.2006 19:00 |
That's is one of few songs by Queen that I absolutley hate |

I love "delilah"! Its so nice that Freddie wrote that for his daughter *caough cough I mean cat cough* |
Sherwood Forest 19.04.2006 19:47 |
ive learned to love it in like the way a child loves candy |
zone 19.04.2006 19:47 |
Not one of their better moments. |
chefman5150 19.04.2006 20:06 |
Definately not one of Queen's better moments...would have been more fitting on a Freddie solo album or something, but I think they realized Freddie wasn't in good enough shape to put out a solo thing, so they just put it on Innuendo. That's my take on it... |
Sebastian 19.04.2006 20:32 |
It's not a bad song, but I think any other track in the album is a lot better. |
The Freddie Bigotes 19.04.2006 20:59 |
Too Gay Song... I don't like it so much.... The Worst Song of Innuendo I Think... Cheers ¡¡¡ |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 19.04.2006 21:37 |
Q: "Was "Delilah" A Good Song?" A: No. Cheers, Ogre- PS: Rocker's are not supposed to "meow". :) |
mike hunt 20.04.2006 00:07 |
Is Delilah a good song?....My honest opinion is if your a 19 year old rocker your obviously gonna hate this song, but if your a lover of music and cats you'll probably like it. I personally like the song, it's probably better than the hitman. |
luthorn 20.04.2006 00:20 |
Duh!!! All Queen songs are good. Anything sang by Freddie is GREAT. Freddie could make a shit song look like a masterpiece. |
kosimodo 20.04.2006 02:59 |
How is delilah doing nowadays?? |
Regor 20.04.2006 04:31 |
It works in the context of the album IMO. It is not a particularly great song in terms of arrangement and especially lyrics, but as part of this special album it's a sort of "maximum-tongue-in-cheeks"-thing, the essence of Freddie saying "Darling, this is gonna be on the album, if you don't like it, I don't care !" To me Innuendo is almost like a concept-album and this is (together with IGSM) Mr. Mercury in all his campness. Followed by a killer metal track like Hitman (the song-order on Innuendo is outstanding) it's just typical Queen. |
bgordon88 20.04.2006 07:00 |
It's got a wonderful guitar break from Brian ! |
Rick 20.04.2006 10:41 |
It sounds more like a demo. It's not bad, but it could be a lot better. Love the 'meeows'. |
Poo, again 20.04.2006 11:04 |
I've only heard the song like once, but I wouldn't say it's bad. |

The meow's in the song make me crack up!! |
magicalfreddiemercury 20.04.2006 12:20 |
Okay, I love this song, really, I do. But, honestly, if I'm listening to it in the car, I roll up the windows right before the first 'meow' and roll 'em back down right after the last one. :-\ |
mog101 20.04.2006 12:27 |
no hooks no catch just boring worst song on the album |
sandro 20.04.2006 12:36 |
Well, if you take out the greatest hits, Innuendo, I´m going slightly Mad, Headlong, These Are The Days Of Our Lives and The Show Must Go on. Delilah is my favorite song. |
MelinaMercury 20.04.2006 12:55 |
kosimodo wrote: How is delilah doing nowadays??Id say dead by now...:( Maybe delilah was one of Freddies last wishes before he died. To sing a song about his Beloved cat?? Who knows.. I like it!, Its a good song to listen to when you've had a few bevvys too many!! hehe X |
Emilio 20.04.2006 13:02 |
Well... I´m not gonna say this is my favourite song, i like it but there are other great creations in the innuendo album such as Innuendo, headlong... I really like ride the wild wind. Innuendo it´s one of the greatest Queen albums I think |
Wayne Gretzky 20.04.2006 13:05 |
Not only the worst song on the album, probably the worst song they ever wrote. |

Wayne Gretzky wrote: Not only the worst song on the album, probably the worst song they ever wrote. No no no no, Man on the prowl is the worst. Delilah is quiet good, I can see why some people hate ut, I did taht at first, but I've been listening more and more to it, and I actually like it now. It's kinda cute, but I don't like the beginning, the first two lines, that's probably why I used to skip it all the time. |

Donna13 20.04.2006 18:42 |
Freddie loved this cat and you can hear it in the music. It's like he knows he is leaving soon and he is calling back to her. He tried to make parts of the song humorous, but I can hear the great sadness as well. In this respect, it is a great example of Freddie's musical genius. This is also a very catchy song and it gets stuck in my head sometimes after I've heard it. The guitar is great - a perfect touch by Brian and a fitting tribute to Freddie's beloved cats. |
Last Cyborg 20.04.2006 18:58 |
Bah, when Brian writes a song about HIS cat no-one complains! Anyway, I think it's a perfectly good song, not the naffest queen song by any means (I'd be far more embarrased playing something like "Don't Try Suicide" in the car). Most of Queen's songs are a bit naff in some way (even the balls out rockers like the Hitman have embarrasing lines like "what a thief, what a pest"), so I don't see any reason to single out this one. Anyway, if albums like Sheer Heart Attack and A Night At The Opera can have stupid campy numbers breaking up the rock ones, why not Innuendo? Is it because it's a 90s album rather than a 70s one it has to be all po faced serious? |
jamesB 21.04.2006 09:49 |
I quite like it, it's amusing especially the 'peeing all over my Chipendale' line......just glad they did not release it as a single. |
deleted user 21.04.2006 10:17 |
I love the miaows and the guitar miaowing..... A very underrated song..... |
sandro 21.04.2006 14:51 |
I agree, Innuendo was probably the greatest album, the only songs is dislike are; The Hitman and All God´s People. |
Winter Land Man 21.04.2006 15:03 |
I think people put it down just cause it's about a cat and they arn't used to writing songs about cats. |

mike hunt wrote: what can a 14 year old kid know about music? You mean "cat" (not "kid"), right? I think Delilah is a bit older than 14. Some cats can live to be in their 20's, although I haven't read anything about Delilah, so I don't know. At any rate, I'm sure she appreciated the song. What cat wouldn't? |
Poo, again 23.04.2006 16:27 |
No, I'm pretty sure he meant "kid". |
maxpower 23.04.2006 18:59 |
it is the weakest song on the album, but its just light relief towards the end of the second side a bit like My Baby Does Me on The Miracle |
Donna13 23.04.2006 21:29 |
The Millionaire Waltz wrote: No, I'm pretty sure he meant "kid".Freddie wrote songs about goats? I know he loved the mountains. Regardless, any goat that Freddie had would surely be in goat heaven by now. I'm not sure how long they live but I'm guessing a lesser life span than a cat. |

kdj2hot 24.04.2006 15:33 |
Ofcourse it's a good song, how could a song by a dying guy about how much he loves his cat brighten his day be a bad song. The last part when he sings "I love your kisses" can probably be best described as haunting. |
Poo, again 24.04.2006 16:02 |
Yeah... thinking about this kinda makes me sad... but in a good way. |
mike hunt 25.04.2006 00:32 |
In some ways it's not fred at his best, but like the last poster was saying "the emotion" he sings "Delilah, I love you" is emotional and yes hauting. Makes this a worth while listen. |
its_a_hard_life 26994 25.04.2006 09:55 |
Not keen on this song. I get annoyed quite easly by it and change to the next track even before it's usually finished. |
sandro 25.04.2006 15:29 |
But, is Delilah at least better than all gods people? |
The Lost Queen 25.04.2006 15:38 |
no. they're equally good. no... all god's people a bit better. |
