I gotta say, David Bowie's one hell of a guy. Not just because he collaborated with Queen on Under Pressure, but because of his eccentrically awesome music. He's been playing ever since the late 1960's, and he still kicks ass now! Songs like Fame, Ziggy Stardust, Changes, Fashion, and Let's Dance are still influential in the evolution of popular music. I'm listening to his 1997 album 'Earthling' right now. Some really funky stuff on there, music I didn't know he could do until recently. Who else likes David Bowie? There's gotta be someone out there who does! |
@ndy38 18.04.2006 17:10 |
Of course :D He is a musical genius, no doubt about it. Changes, Ashes to Ashes, Jean Genie, Starman, Thursday's Child, Modern Love, China Girl, Heroes, Rebel Rebel.......all bloody amazing songs! AND Let's Dance.... |
mystic_rhythms 18.04.2006 17:42 |
Well, I'll admit, after going through my Best of Bowie CD about 50 times, it does get somewhat boring. BUT, he does have over 30 years worth of material, ranging from funk to rock to dance to techno, and everything else in between! So as long as you have variety in your David Bowie experience, you should never get bored. At least, I shouldn't. |

There is no reason for "Rebel Rebel" to be longer than two minutes. I'm sorry, but that just bothers me. |

I just found the Easter Eggs on the Best of Bowie DVD I got! The fun never ends... But seriously, I think what I should do to help relieve the ensuing boredom of listening to the same songs over and over would be to actually check out other songs of his. For example, I just checked out Hunky Dory from my library. Other than Changes, good songs exist, such as Queen Bitch, and Andy Warhol. Bowie is kickass though, no matter what! |

The next time he tours, I want to see him, because I haven't seen him live yet and it just seems like something I should do. |

I love David Bowie's music. He's a bit like FRank Zappa in that his music covers just about every music genre I can think of and they're (his albums) all equally as good. My top David songs: Jean Genie (never did figure out what this is about) Starman (first Bowie song I ever heard) Heroes Space Oddity Rebel Rebel Golden Years |
