This is not a mix between Freddie and Roger, only the studio version. It's not one of my favorite tracks but still, I wanted to try to make a mix from it. It's a bit longer than the original (6:22sec) Please let me know what you think of this version. :) Enjoy!. link |

this is a very nice mix, i like it alot the intro is very cool you should do more of that stuff |
deleted user 16.04.2006 16:02 |
Could it please be put on Megaload? :) |
Lord Fickle 16.04.2006 16:48 |
That's very good, Dan, especially the intro. Likewise, not one of my favourite tracks - it would be great if someone could mix a better drum sound over it. |
Daniel vZ 16.04.2006 17:09 |
Okay :) Thanks for the comments! |

Hi everybody, great work daniel. It's one of my favourite tracks, so i'm glad someone did a remix of it. Especially the way you make freddie's lead vocals more evident is very nice. I love the intro. cheers |

Nice mix, indeed. The way it started certainly would've had me thinking it was a pro mix. It just had a feeling about the sound. Although, I did think you wore out the effect of the intro by making it too long. It was also a bit annoying (to me anyway) to hear that same line inserted during the middle part where it's only Freddie singing Radio ga ga. I would've just used the same delay effect on Freddie's bit, there. And then you use the same line in the end part too. Too much use wears out the effect and depreciates its original striking value. Lessen that and it'll be much, much better. My only other advice would be to look for some Freddie vox bits. I kept wanting to hear a couple of "yeahs" from Freddie during the latter part of the intro to mix it up a bit more. So, if that "all we hear is" line was used far less, it would make a bigger impact overall. Trust me. The mark of a good feeling to this stuff is to leave them wanting more. To me, that's the way to get something great going on. I feel that almost every time I hear The Show Must Go On. They got that song, just right. Peace, Adam. |

Yah to Fickle about drum sounds. It's the instrumentation of most of their 80's work (solo or otherwise) that always shits me. Radio Gaga really does have quite a beautiful melody to it, but the drum sound has always struck me as a little offensive. It works in the context of the album (thematically, it was constant allusions to man vs. machine and all) but, it doesn't make for easy listening per se. I really did like it when they went back to more real sounding drums. Though a lot of Innuendo is mixed crazily, I've liked the drumming (if not the sound itself) on The Hitman, and REALLY love the drums in Show Must Go On. |

Overall very great mix! but try to improve the timing on "all we hear is ..." in the intro It does sound too early at: 20-21 sec 29-30 sec 47 sec 57 sec 1:05 sec for instance at 5:05 it does sound correct regarding the timing ... Stefan PS can you make a shorter edit version, then your alterations will sound much more up front (the long version you made it a little bit repetetive) |

It's SUPPOSED to sound like that, and Dan has done a very good job with the timing, and of making it sound a little different. |
Daniel vZ 23.04.2006 06:04 |
Thanks for the comments!. I'll see if I can make another slightly different (edited?) version. |

I thought it was terrific. Good work. |

It just my humble opinion, or are we imposing censorship here on Queenzone? I just gave my opinion about the fact that I (!) thought the timing of some parts was "off beat" ... Maybe Daniel can use my suggestion and then we will compare! Stefan |

Sorry, Stefan, perhaps that was a little rude. I was just surprised that anyone could think it was a mistake, especially as it was repeated several times. No offence meant. |

ok :) no hard feelings I am just curious if Daniel could maybe put up an edited version ... I will be looking forward to that :) Stefan |

I am working on a edited version of my mix, so expect it soon ;) |
deleted user 24.04.2006 10:42 |
I'm listening to this one now and I love the beginning where it goes, 'Gaga...gaga'. It's really good.:) And before I didn't notice they do say 'Kaka'. I've always heard Roger saying they never actually changed the lyrics and in this mix you can really hear it. |

Here's the edited version of my Radio Ga Ga mix. I'm not a big fan of edited versions, so this will be (probably) the only time. I've made the intro a bit different, adjusted a few things and I've made it as short as possible (it's now 4:43sec.) Hope you like this one too :) link |
Adam Baboolal 25.04.2006 10:59 |
Well, this one's a lot tighter, but I'm torn between them now. There are things I like from the first that got cut and there's that bit in the middle I didn't like that remains in place. But this second one is also a nice length and well edited down. Still, well done, as this sounds like a goodun! Btw, is it my imagination or does Freddie sound clearer in this second mix? Did you alter anything to make this happen? Peace, Adam. |
Daniel vZ 25.04.2006 12:16 |
Adam Baboolal wrote: Btw, is it my imagination or does Freddie sound clearer in this second mix? Did you alter anything to make this happen? Peace, Adam.Well, it's your imagination ;) It's exactly the same as in the long version, I used for this mix (long and edited version), the three front channels of the 5.1 mix, so the voice is a bit clearer than the normal (album) version. |
Lord Fickle 25.04.2006 13:27 |
I think both versions are equally excellent, and in my opinion, this is technically your best mix yet, Dan. You have made it more interesting, without taking away the body of the song, and this is the kind of mix I might have done myself, and would have been proud of, had it been this good. |
Daniel vZ 25.04.2006 15:31 |
Well thank you! :) There was one part in particular that was difficult to do, and still I think that part isn't perfect, but it'll do. Well, I think it's time for a lesser obvious choice of song. ;) |
Adam Baboolal 25.04.2006 17:36 |
I'm not so sure it's my imagination. I've listened to both and there's at least a slight difference in volume. That could be what I'm hearing. ***listens over and over and over!*** On further examination, there's definitely a flatter feeling off the new edit mix, compared to the full mix. The drums seem more full-on in the stereo image with the full mix, but far lesser in the edit mix. Ideas? You must have changed something. Peace, Adam. |
Daniel vZ 25.04.2006 17:44 |
You're right, I see what you mean, both track-volumes are the same, the only thing that's different is (like you said) the overall volume. |
martin S 26.04.2006 13:23 |
Hi Daniel, awesome work my friend. Closest thing to perfection ever released on this board. I almost can't decide which version I prefer, but as this is my favourite track i have to go with the longer version. The edit version misses some things out i really liked. Especially the long "ga ga..." intro. really, really well done....thanks cheers |
Daniel vZ 26.04.2006 17:33 |
Thank you, glad you like both versions. I want to start on the next mix, but I don't know which one. |
Lord Fickle 26.04.2006 17:57 |
Leave 'em wanting more, Dan! ;) |

Wow! This is just fantastic Daniel. I'm really amazed at what great ideas you had and how well they work. Frankly the original is going to seem lacking now :) I didn't bother with the edit. Nothing wrong with the 'normal' in my opinion :) Thanks! |
