Today for the first time I stop watching the Freddie Tribute as a big and bombastic show...and I start to analize the perfomances... I dont want to start song by song because there are more than 20... but.... do you think that in general it´s a great concert with a great set list and great perfomances????... I don´t think so... Daltrey, Plant, Zucchero, Seal, Young, Elthon... they suck man... maybe they are great artist by himself in his bands or career... but this event was a one off... I still found it very dissapointing...
Cheers..

Oh yeah, IMO WWTLF is the best interpretation of the night, along with STL. Seal's perf is
soulful and inspired, and he has a nice voice. The Bowie set is not bad either (except the
few embarassing minutes he spent on his knees, hum). Having rewatched it recently, I was
rather impressed with the band's rendition of Stone Cold Crazy (perfect, a shame Hetfield
ruins the subtlety and the distance Freddie brought to the song) and Innuendo : I think it
shows, in spite of any abysmal AI jury comment, that it could have been a live favorite. It
sounds really good and tight and the omission of the flamenco extravaganza doesn't hurt too
much. Then again, Plant disappoints, but the band nails it.
In short, I think Innuendo and Stone Cold Crazy could have been great on the QPR tour!
I loved Robert Plant with Crazy little thing but I'm a big Zeppelin fan and to see Plant with Queen I was in Heaven .Axel Rose can't sing for shit and he proved it.
I agree, Seal was great. Definately one of the best performances of the night. BTW, what does he sing at the very end (just before the last line)? It sounds like he's making up some words but it I can't figure it out.
Bo Rhap was a disaster. Elton didn't play those 'crossing-hands-notes' and that alone spoiled the song for me. Plus Axl can't sing (IMO). He was there only because GnR were so HUGE at the moment.
Everyone seems to hate Plant's set. I disagree! Yes, he forgot some lines on Innuendo, but overall it wasn't really that bad. Queen were great and just to hear that song live was fantastic. It was also brilliant to hear Queen tracks creating sort of a medley with Led Zep tracks.
To me, the worst moments were Paul Young on GaGa, David Bowie (Lord's Prayer + didn't even attempt to sing any Queen songs), and Slash's guitar solo on TYMD.
(gasps, somewhat like a fish that's been thrown on the sand).
Daltrey... Sucked??? You have got to be fucking joking, otherwise so help me I've just lost all hope for humanity. Hahaha.
Ok I'm acting it up a bit, but seriously... Daltrey was right on the money, flying on stage with the mic waving, it is seriously my favourite rendition of I Want It All (outside of the studio version of course!).
He had to be best in show, no doubts there. Close second would go to George Michael for his audience interaction, which most people forget when they do Queen shows... ugh.
