according to Brian they will spend the time ater the tour "trying" some new stuff in studio. No family hollidays , it seems: «And hey, according to what Brian May tells us, there may soon be new Queen songs for American Idol contestants to consider. "We're planning to go in and kick some stuff around, yeah, and the same attitude as the tour, you know, we'll go in and see what works and have some fun, just purely for it's own sake, yeah I mean, it's a very challenging prospect, yeah, I think we'll go in and see what happens." » |

I'd love a new album, but I'm not sure how long Q+PR will last, PR is doing solo shows in the US as soon a s the tour ends... seems odd. |

A new album is fine by me, with or without Paul. |

A new album with Paul? YES, YES, YES PRETTY PLEASE!!!!! A new album with American Idol contestants? HELL NO, THAT'S THE END, I COULDN'T BEAR TO LOOK BRIAN MAY IN THE EYES NOMORE... Damn... just read that on his website. The guy REALY lost it... |

I think they all have individual commitments such as Pauls solo work, and Brian's work with Patrick Moore, however they will be in the studio later in the year, as Roger said a few weeks ago, I don't think Brian's comments indicated they would be rushing into the studio next week. |
August R. 13.04.2006 09:19 |
Yes, a new album would be great. It's been way too long since we last heard new material from Brian and Roger, and they are good songwriters. The tour is over. Now it's time move on. I hope Paul wants to continue this relationship 'cos he's such a brilliant singer. Though it probably would be just as great to hear Brian & Roger doing their stuff. |

Don't get your hopes up too much. They've been talking about recording a new album of literally years - Roger was quoted talking about it as far back as '99 - and nothing's been released yet. They may well record and release a new album with or without Paul (preferably with), but don't assume that just because Brian May said it that its actually going to happen. Brian says a lot of things. |

NO FREDDIE MEANS NO QUEEN. A new album is ok, IF they don't drag the QUEEN name along. If they use a new band name thats fine.(or their own names) But other than that, NO. Brian and Roger are NOT QUEEN. |

I think one way or the other B and R will do a new album and another tour. If Paul bails, it would be a huge dissapointment. I sure hope like hell that last night in Vancouver Queen didn't play their last show ever. I am optimistic about their future. |
Scott_Mercury 14.04.2006 16:40 |
Let's get in the real world folks....Paul Rodgers isn't going to leave. Would that not be the fucking dumbest move in the history of music?? That would rank right up there with Pete Best arguing with John Lennon and McCartney about what direction the look and sound of the Beatles should go for. This has been one of the biggest revival's of any singer's career in the history of modern music. Paul Rodgers has done the unthinkable.... he is filling in for the non-replaceable Freddie Mercury, and has been accepted by a majority of fans and critics. Paul, in his late 50's, has the opportunity to have bases loaded, bottom of the the 9th, and hit one out of the park. His work with Free and Bad Company was remarkable...but having a absolute once in a lifetime opportunity to front Freddie Mercury's band, and to have that defining "moment" would all be pissed down the drain if he left. C'mon guys... Paul may be doing a few summer dates while Brian and Roger take a few months off, but I believe he's just keep the vocal chords primed to go into the studio with the boys. How many of you would give up the position of filling in for Freddie Mercury if it were offered?? Yeah, Paul's not dumb enough to either. |
Deacons 1st Choice 14.04.2006 21:01 |
I totally agree. Thank you for posting that! Paul is awesome...the Band is awesome together and you are right: it would be insane to NOT continue. You can tell they LOVE it...and are getting a charge out of being able to play together. Mark my words....they WILL be back Stateside. :) |
roxxanne61 14.04.2006 22:14 |
I agree too and I for one, will be watching Paul keeping those vocal chords in tune on May 20th in Connecticut |

I can't see why so many people are actually unhappy that we may get an album of NEW songs from Brian and Roger, whether they use the 'Queen' name or not. |

bgordon88 18.04.2006 11:49 |
It will be an odd combination. The three have very different styles. Even in Queen the writers had very different styles but somehow the Freddie vocal made everything sound like Queen. There is no way that Paul Rodgers can do that - it's more likely to end up sounding like a Paul Rodgers album. |
zaiga 18.04.2006 14:08 |
bgordon88 wrote: There is no way that Paul Rodgers can do that - it's more likely to end up sounding like a Paul Rodgers album. That's a bit what I'm afraid of too. I think it's great that they will be doing an album together, but I don't hope it will be too much "Paul Rodgers", I like his stuff, I do, but I hope that there's still enough "Queen" in it. |

Well i think it's great that Paul is out and about again so soon. I think he has gained many new fans through the Q+PR efforts. I for one think he's terrific and well worth going off to see. These solo shows should be a treat for the local fans. |
AlexRocks 22.04.2006 10:06 |
Don't worry there should be some lead vocals from both Brian May and Roger Taylor. Especially the first couple of songs I hope to give the feeling of a transistion. For one I think that a long instrumental should be first to bring everything back after the long instrumental hidden track at the end of "Made In Heaven". |

A new album would be great, really. I am a conservative person, but at last I like PR much and I know Fred would want B+R carry on with or without PR and why not: So many people enjoyed their new shows around the globe. Cheers, THE SHOW MUST GO ON or as Bri says onwards!!! |

Well, let me try to outline a few arguments that lead me to welcome happily a new Queen album (although I'd rather prefer a May-Rodgers-Taylor denomination, or only the name of the album, without spending the name 'Queen'). 1) Since 1998 Brian and Roger haven't released any solo albums. Don't you miss some new songs? 2) Brian+Roger is better than Brian and Roger Alone (imagine: Roger's choirs on 'Business' or 'the Guvnor' - perhaps with a better drum arrangement, or Brian's Guitar in 'Nation Haircuts' or 'Believe in Yourself' - whose solo was horrible). 3) We got some very promising hints of new ideas... 'The Call' sounds great, and 'Say it's not true' is a great track. Wouldn't you love a studio version of them, including perhaps an improved version of 'Invincible Hope'???? 4) Queen+Paul Rodgers was a great chance to listen to Queen musica live again.. into an 'alive and still kicking shape'... would you like this to end??? 5) Paul gave a good contribution to Queen's new adventure... and 'Take love' is a good song. I think that - sharing vocals with Brain and Roger - the new mood they created live could have a great chance also in a studio production 6) Would you prefer all to end? No more new projects? Only solo stuff released here and then?? personally no. For the above mentioned reasons, I think we should be happy if they decided to go on a studio to record (but I don't think it's really likely to happen, do you?) and we should encourage them to do it soon. Kindest regards, Roy. |
shootingstar 02.05.2006 23:10 |
New album...all new tracks? I wouldn't mind it. But, I also wouldn't mind maybe one or two studio remakes of old songs which went over really well during this tour--namely songs like, TYMD, IWIA, Dragon, TSMGO (...to some, at least)... Any thoughts? |

Just found this comment from Paul. Hmmm... it seems he is interested in doing some studio work with our boys. Paul:"As for my next solo album, I had intended to do one for Universal, but now Brian and Roger seem to be keen on recording. So only time will tell. Anything is possible...remember, Q + PR began as a few dates and evolved into a world tour." |
roy_fokker 28.05.2006 16:56 |
This sounds really an interesting quote. Paul Rodgers has all the interest to keep on sailing on the Queen boat. I also noticed that during the USA tour his syle/look were a little more Freddie-like... just think, i.e., playing the piano! Anyway... let's wait and see... the silence around the whole thing could be encouraging ;-) |

~Pred. wrote: am i the olny one that thinks freddie has been kinda forgotten?Certainly, you are not the only one who thinks that, but nevertheless I think you are wrong. There was plenty of Freddie during the Q+PR tour. The video footage during These Are The Days Of Our Lives. Love Of My Life dedicated to Freddie with Brian sitting next to an empty stool, very fitting and touching IMHO. Freddie singing Bohemian Rhapsody on screen. Keep in mind that this was not a Freddie Mercury memorial tour, that wouldn't have been right. This was a new thing, with Paul Rodgers, a little bit of old stuff, a little bit of new stuff. What they did felt just right. |
