There's an article on QOnline with the following quote from Roger:
''Freddie was a big fan of his voice right from the beginning,'' says Taylor of Rodgers, from a tour stop in Milwaukee. The original Queen even had a song called ''Hangman'' written in the style of Rodgers' first rock band, Free. It has been performed live, but ''I don't know if we ever recorded it,'' Taylor says.
Strange...
I always found Hangman more like something Zeppelin of Sabbath.
(btw: did anyone else notice that 'Nightmare' on Black Sabbath's 'Eternal Idol'-album has the exact same riff in the exact same tempo as Hangman?! :-P
that's uncanny...!!!
Sounds just like the riff!!
Perhaps that's a reason why they didn't record it in studio ??
edit: Nightmare was from a 1987 album...still, it's quite strange (planned?) that it is so close to the Hangman riff...
A.
Yeah, it is waaaay too identical to be a coincidence, isn't it?! ;-)
Well, Brian and Tony Iommi used to hang out together a lot in those days... Who knows!
