OK - I've been reading all these posts about attendances, crowd reactions etc blah blah blah...
I guess my own mind is asking some serious questions here. There must be fans out there who have attended tons of shows in the States.
My question is "can anyone truly remember ANY shows by ANY bands in US that truly had FULL ON audience participation or have Queen come closer to prompting traditionally reserve American audiences out of their shells?
I'd be curious to know of fans' experiences on this topic.
We, as Queen fans are spoiled to the nth degree with the images and experiences we've had in the past. The problem is that in most international territories, fans go to the show to be the extra band members. Here people want to site back and watch and listen. So, has anyone in this country ever seen anything close to the GaGa handclap or the "Ayooos" being repeated? I never have in all the shows I've attended on US soil.
I've seen footage of the Live Aids from 85 and the American crowd was, I'm sure, asleep the whole day.
I've only seen Queen in the States in Hollywood last year but will be in San Jose on Wed 5th.
I generally don't go to shows - Queen or otherwise - where I am not down front or at least on the floor, where the crowd tends to be more enthusiastic and more into it. So from where I'm usually standing, the audience usually seems to be participating to a high degree. How it looks to people in the nosebleeds, I don't know. I just know that if I wanted to hear music while sitting on my ass, I can stay home and do that any time. When I go to a concert, I go to rawk.

U2 reall know how to get the american crowds going, then again they have spent most of there careers over in the US, they love it and the US seem to love them. listen to the boots of U2 and you will see they are always alive.
then comparing the same audience with Queen, the audience seem to be non existant, dead, and they just dont move. You compare that audience to the UK, GAGA for example, everylast person is garunteed to clap to GAGA, the americans? well if you get about 3 then your doing very well in my books.
i can only say i went to two shows on this tour
