The queen anthology is a regular talked about topic now and then so i suppose you'll thinking well why the hell have you brought it up again eh?.
Well i was thinking about it and no i have decided to give you my thoughts and i would love to hear yours.
I reckon the boxsets anthologies etc.. should be made in volumes very similar in the way the beatles anthology was put together and presented in that form, i think it will work that way because you have to take in to account the number of albums they made and that's without pre-queen or anything else.
Okay volume one should contain very first queen song(whatever that will be) followed by demos and alternative tracks from the first 4 albums and oddbobs from other sessions.
Volume two would be A day at the races to the game and following the same pattern as vol 1 and then perhaps some odd bobs of interview or telly appearance.
Volume 3 would be FG HS AND THE WORKS with solo stuff recorded or demoed by queen first and oddbobs too.
Volume 4 would then be AKOM MIRACLE INNUENDO and 1991+ and solo stuff demoed by queen and other oddbobs of stuff.
So what do you have Four volumes of either two/three cd packs with everything on and i think there will be at least that covering their career, as with the beatles 3X 2cds made with 13 studio albums whereas queen have done 15 studio albums.
You could then have a Queen anthology for dvd following their entire career which would be like 10 hours long or thereabouts of their lives focussing on thier career their thoughts mixed with archive and rare footage.
Basically Queen productions follow the beatles anthology format and you won't go wrong it worked for them, and there's a method in madness it should reunite JD with roger/bri to compile and relive their lives as part of the best band in the world.
What do you think??? and sorry for rambling on but this is something i think about all the time and i think after listening to FM BOXSET i'm more keen than ever to wonder what unheard tracks will be there and perhaps their last ever session together.
Ah well back to reality 2009 can't be that far away!!!!!!!!!!!.
Cheers.
No, no. They will still be charged by the amount of material on a disc. Not by how many discs there are. They would still charge for the studio l.p. and its bonus features of film, 5.1, 2.0, unreleased tracks, hopefully a nice detailed fully pictured book with great artwork, etc,. For example box sets would be on one disc but still cost the same...perhaps more though as they will potentially have some or bunches of unreleased material if the artists has all that. Then again their will be so much competition that while they might be more expensive than they are now they probably will come back down to the prices they are nowadays...
