the story...it was around 1975 or so. I was listening to a reel to reel tape of some stuff my brother had recorded off FM radio at that time. On this tape was NIH and I can remember the first listen like it was yesterday as this is prob when I became a Queen fan. I also remember the song that was on before NIH and it seemed to a perfect intro to NIH. I could swear it was Queen but I have never heard anywhere that there was any studio versions of NIH done with a beginning other that what we all know. I can remember this song to the point that I can play some of it on the bass but I just cannot place it. Words I can remember are something like..."bright light...shinin' down on me...the light..then something"....then lyrics and then, "asking you up there.....come down if you dare" and that's all I can remember but I got the bass lick down. I wish I could play it all for ya's :)
the question(s)
Is there a beginning to NIH other than what we already know? Am I just thinking of another band?
Regards,
1) It was not Queen
2) It was one of their live covers of old rock'n'roll hits
I can't remember any Queen song with "dare" in lyrics... Except "Under Pressure" and Roger's "Old Men" :)
