I had to do this for Health in school: Go to Google Images and type in Anorexia. It is SO sick. What a disturbing disease. |

I don't know how people can do that to themselves, I mean I watch what I eat but I'm not risking my boobs disappearing just to be a size 2 or something stupid. |

Women should NEVER EVER take advice on how to look from people working in the fashion industry. No offense to gay men (I'm saying this because many of the men working in the fashion business are gay), but it seems like their idea of a good looking woman is anyone who weighs less than 110 lbs. After all, they are the same people who tell these anorexic supermodels what they should look like. Fuck that shit! It sickens me when people call women fat pigs just because they have a tiny bit of flab on their stomachs. Not every single woman is meant to look like Jessica Alba, and they should remind themselves that they can be beautiful without trying to look like some dumb celebrity. |

Ravenetta wrote: i believe its a vanity disease and nothing else.I have to disagree. Most anorexics come from a background of abuse. Eating, or lack thereof, is one thing that they can control. Also, it's sort of a "punishment" for not being worthy. It's a very complex and sad disease that has nothing to do with vanity. As far a models go, I think it's a diet gone out of control due to the pressure from others....also very abusive. |

I was looking at old pics of Queen, and I just cannot believe how skinny they were, especially Brian...Roger was skinny himself, but he did have a little meat on his bones...but they had a pretty busy schedule, so thats how they were probably able to keep their weight down |

Personally, I say fuck the fashion industry. But trust me, health class can be worse. When my health teacher gave us the sex ed. talk (well, for the girls, we had the school nurse, but whatever) God, was it bad. |

Speaking of the fashion industry, did anyone hear about Tyra Banks going undercover as a stripper. She ended up running away in tears at the thought of having to stand on a stage with men lusting over her body. What a phony bitch! Tyra Banks clearly forgot that she's been a stripper her whole life. The only difference is that instead of having men put bills on her panties, she receives checks for millions of dollars. |

I dont see how people can put themselves through that torture, food is there to eat, excercise is there to loose weight, not shoving your hand down your throat and so on.Its stupid,if they feel that bad about their weight they should join some sort of sport |

A few members of my family have had eating disorders, and pictures like those are just an example of what you can become if you take it too far... and people don't joke about eating disorders. It's a serious issue. |

It depends. Not all anorexics start out as people trying to lose a little weight. More times than not, it's a way of dealing with emotional issues, ie, abuse of any kind, self-loathing, etc. |
