does anybody know if there exist a last interview from the press conference or any interview when freddie announced that he is ill with aids, and if yes, where to find a audio/video clip from it? |
val 29467 27.03.2006 07:36 |
it probably exists, i dont know where though... |

Freddie didn't announce his illness himself, as he was bedridden at that point (ie the day before he died). As far as I'm aware (and please correct me if I'm wrong) the last time freddie was caught on video was in May 91 for the 'These are the days...' video. |

Oh my god, these "Last interview"-questions should be banned from the forum (countless threads during the last months). There was NO interview, where Freddie said that he had AIDS. Freddie had released a press statement the day before he died (over his Management), in which he declared that he had been diagnosed HIV positive and that he had AIDS. Freddie never said in an interview, that he was ill. He saw it as a private thing. And speaking of the famous last interview, it probably took place in 1990, I doubt it that Freddie would still have spoken to any reporter in 1991 (of course, filmed appearences such as TATDOOL not counting). |

I believe that's from the "Queen For An Hour" interview (you know, that hour-long talk with the four of them) Didn't that take place in '90 or '91? You know, during the Innuendo sessions or something? If so, that would most likely be counted as the "last" Freddie interview. |

He was wearing a blue shirt, a tie, black trousers in that one, i think. |

Well, there's the fictitious one that Fatty posted on the board a while back. |

me_and_my_innuendo wrote:No, it took place in spring of 1989, shortly before or after the release of "The Miracle". I have it on CD and they talk mainly about "The Miracle"-songs, about producing the album and why they don't go on tour. And the interviewer clearly says that it is three years since the last Queen gig at Knebworth Park. Freddie didn´t really look that ill at this point.Serry... wrote: "Hi, my name is Kim Basinger... "ive never seen that...is it on dvd on been on tv somewhere? it looks very interesting." It was shared few times in Sharing Music forum. "I believe that's from the "Queen For An Hour" interview (you know, that hour-long talk with the four of them" It was radio interview, Innuendo EPK is video. |

This has been verified as the last interview with Freddie, done a few days before his death - enjoy. link |

I only said that Freddie never spoke about / or announced his AIDS thing in an interview. And I clearly said nothing about a specific date of a last interview with Freddie. I only ment that it must have taken place in 1989 or 1990, because he was too ill in 1991. It could have been in 1989 with Mike Reid, but he was seen in public even afterwards (Brit Awards 1990, for example), so it is possible that reporters asked him some questions on these occasions (though that may not be a full interview).Peter Cetera wrote: Oh my god, these "Last interview"-questions should be banned from the forum (countless threads during the last months). Dude, would you please stop posting crap that isn't remotely true? It's one thing to be a big fan and take an interest in the last months before he died, but to tell outright lies is another. Mercury's last interview alone was in 1987. His last interview with the band was in 1989. Full stop. And his last performance was on September 28, 1991. Most people just don't know about it. He played with John Bonham, Jimi Hendrix and Brian Jones. I was there. And everything that's written on the internet is true. |

The Queen for an hour was an interview for Radio 1, promoting The Miracle. All four of them talked about the album, their solo stuff and songs that inspire them - Freddie - Careless Whisper Brian - Tracks Of My Tears Roger - I Am The Walrus John - Veronica I still have the original broadcast on a cassette, but I've heard lengthier unedited YouTube versions. |
ActionFletch 07.02.2012 00:52 |
..... And according to my cassette notes, it was broadcast in the UK in May 1989. |
John.Simon 07.02.2012 02:47 |
but I thought with that in November 1991 as Peter Freestone He told Freddie that he went to change clothes before he died, then went up and Jim Hutton said that we left it was a short conversation. |

The unedited interview is on DaveRFullers channel "Queen For An Hour 1989 Interview" it's full of bits that were chopped out of the original broadcast, John explaining why he chose Veronica for example. I recorded the interview directly from the Radio One broadcast. The broadcast actually played the songs mentioned at appropriate points of the interview, Breakthru, Tracks Of My Tears etc. etc. which are missing on Dave's YouTube vids. I don't know how to convert the cassette to digital and upload, I suppose I'd just have to record it as its played from a speaker? |
