I wonder if Queen ever considered this, but instead of touring with Paul Rodgers, what if they did it with Tim Staffel. I think I'd rather see them play with Staffel than Rodgers, would be a cool kind of Smile reunion although not many people know about Smile, but at the same time they wouldn't have to throw in all those Bad Company songs and those Bad Company songs would've been replaced with more Queen songs. Thoughts?

you could do that if you searched the bloody forum :P
But I agree with you. A Smile 2006 tour sounds good :) but I also love Paul Rosgers so I'm not complaining
I think it's a great idea, I would prefer to see Smile than Q+PR, not that I don't appreciate what they're doing, I would just prefer it that way.

yes but you got to remind yourself, how many people remember Smile, especially the youngsters that have been to this tour, they will have no idea who Smile was, if the initial tour was Smile, i dont think they could do nearly as well as they did now as Queen+PR. sorry but unless the youngsters came on forums like this or were complete die hard fans, they would not of known who smile were and would not have gone to the concerts.
Roger and Brian touring as Smile? Get real. The only thing Smile had going for it was the fact that it was the predecessor to Queen. If the band was so bloody brilliant, Brian and Roger would've stuck with it and not moved on with Freddie. And besides, everyone knows who Tim Staffel is. ::rolls eyes:: At least Paul Rodgers actually has fans.

Sorry, but 95% of youngsters had no any clue who was Paul Rodgers before this tour started!
I would like to have seen a Smile tour...with all 3 sharing vocals, playing songs from Smile, their own solo tracks and chuck in a couple of Queen songs for good measure. Bit like Roger & Brian's solo tours in that respect (the Queen bit).

no they bloddy-well wouldn't! i think the whole reason that Brian and Roger "grouped up" with paul is because he sounds closest to where Smile would be, had they evloved into the 21st century...not fucking Humpy-Bong!!!
