In an off-screen twist, doubt has been cast as to whether Hayes really meant to depart the animated series. FoxNews.com columnist Roger Friedman reported Monday the 63-year-old "Shaft" soul great suffered a stroke on Jan. 17 and "is in no condition to quit anything." "My sources say that someone quit [the show] for him," Friedman wrote. Previous reports had Hayes hospitalized Jan. 17 in Memphis for what was said to be exhaustion. The reputed stroke diagnosis was said to be news to Comedy Central. WTF??? |

SP is getting better with every season and the satire is mostly clever...mostly. |

the guy who played chef and all the like voices that sing n stuff quite because they made of scientologists in an episode right? thats what my sources say and whats funny is that south park insults all the religions and finally when they do his he throws a fit and quits |
The Fairy King 24.03.2006 14:56 |
The news is that he didn't quit, but somebody quit for him. So there's still hope. And Linda, i liked FG, i still watch every Sunday-night on BBC, but it isn't like it woz the first 2 seasons. Have you seen the movie? I think that woz very disappointing, sure it had some nice jokes but compared to the SP movie it woz kinda lame xD But i still watch for Stewie, he's the funniest of the bunch. |

OK here's the story... link Apparently Isaac Hayes is a Scientologist. God knows whether if he's been on the Church of Scientology for a while, or he recently became a member. The truth of the matter is that Isaac Hayes was pissed off when they made fun of the Church of Scientology and Tom Cruise on the 'Trapped In The Closet' episode. Isaac's excuse to leave the show was "religious bigotry", making it seem that he was fed up with the show making fun of all kinds of religions, and not only Scientology. What makes Isaac Hayes seem like a hypocrite is that South Park has been making fun of religions since season one, and that was 9 years ago. Christians and Jewish have been the main targets of religious jokes, but Isaac Hayes didn't seem to have a problem with that until they made fun of Scientologists. I thought Matt and Trey were geniuses for writing that episode. Never once I thought they were being offensive towards Isaac Hayes, but rather blaming the Church of Scientology for his departure. I hope they come up with more Scientologist/Tom Crusie bashing when Mission Impossible 3 comes out. |

Lately the 'Family Guy' writers have started to run of ideas with the pop culture references. That seemed to be one of the funniest things about the show, but ever since the show came back on the air they're starting to get lame. I love 'Family Guy', but I'm already starting to get sick and tired of whenever Peter says - "Remember the time when... ( ~ add POP CULTURE REFERENCE ~ )". Once in a while they come up with something funny, but there's just WAY TOO MANY pop culture references, and the majority of them are starting to luck dumb. It would be better if the writers just stuck to following the storyline. |
The Fairy King 24.03.2006 19:25 |
*sigh* Curse those fruits! xD Are there any Scientologists on QZ? Maybe Arlene? xD Or does the Scientology Church consist only of demented rich American Celebs? |

Then again, Scientology shouldn't be considered a religion since you have to pay money to join. I applaud Trey and Matt for "The Return of Chef" episode. Just goes to show that they can take a bad situation, like a main character leaving, and turn it into something really funny! |

Season's 2 and 3 were the best, at least I think so, especially when Peter was singing that I need a Jew song, that was hilarious!! |

I saw that Tom Cruise episode, and it was hilarious. Hayes shouldn't have taken it so seriously. I mean i never get offended as a Catholic whenever i see Father Ted, it's a shame he took it to heart like that. Also, surely he knew what kind of show it was after the amount of years he'd been on it, so from that perspective Hayes was being a little naive to the whole situation. |
