we all know that there's lot of talk about a new Queen or Queen+PR (studio)album after the european tour, and since they would spend some time in the studio mixing and producing Live CD/DVD return of the champions everyone thought that they would come out with something on this American tour. but all we hear is Rodger's "take love" song, that really have anything to do with queen (sound). and they kept saying that they haven't time to do some music but «everything is open» and stuff like this. but how they didn't something? 6 mmoths isn't enought? well paul live in the US but Brian and Roger could easely do something together. AND THEY ALREADY DID!!! Roger, as usual spoiled some beans.. did you already read Roger's last interview on Brianmay.com?
"It's really stirred up our creative juices. Brian and I (have) written a lot of stuff between us," Taylor said. "We still think we can come up with something of interest to people. To not use Paul's voice would be a criminal waste. I think we'll probably be recording in the latter half of this year."
So Brian and Roger already WROTE A LOT OF STUFF , and they want to realese a new album, with or without PR!!!
great news
Thanks! Sounds good, but i'm not so sure about a new album. I'd much rather have an album of unreleased Freddie material, but I guess that wont happen. I'd probably even want a live album from the US tour rather than a new album. Anyways, if their ever is a new album, hopefully their will be a few songs sang by Roger and Brian on the album.

Yep, hope they sing on it. a new album with freddie's unrealesed songs will probably go out when they realese the box sets in 2009!
Uhhh..hate to burst your bubble but when Rog said...

That sure don't sound like with or WITHOUT Paul to me.
Am I missing something?
and what do you think they will do if PR declines recording a new album with them to persue his "fabulous" solo carreer? drop the «lots of stuff» they wrote on the last months to the garbage?

Well, how can you be so sure they'll carry through and record with someone else if Paul is what makes them excitied about writting in the first place.
You could be right, that remains to be seen but you said it so self-assuredly, I was just wondering where you got the with or without part.

i've made my interpretation, but you've made yours too... where in this world Roger say that it is Paul that makes them excited about writing? He just say that they wrote a lot of stuff lately and they don't want to waste a voice like Paul....if it was Paul "the" reason for them write new music, they would wait to write with him...

A album filled with unreleased Freddie stuff would be a criminal waste. Don't forget unreleased stuff remained unreleased because they sucked. There aren't any real jams amoung the demo's etc. The only reason we like them is because they are new to us. and not because they are musically great stuff.
Maybe finish an idea Freddie started would be cool. And then finish it with Brian and Roger (and Paul?) on vocals (and Freddie ofcourse). That would be really cool. But don't pack an album full of unreleased crap.
Live in the now, not in the past
I don't agree with that i'm sorry having a album with freddie and paul on vocals pure madness that would be , it would either be all new stuff written by paul brian and roger or material written years ago with input from bri rog and maybe john???.
I really would not buy a album with paul and freddie singing it would be like putting robbie williams singing with freddie mercury on WATC.
Fried chicken i don't think that will happen this will probably be the queen timeline for the next couple of years:-
2006 FINISH TOUR + POSSIBLY SOME STUDIO WORK WITH PR
2007 RELEASE ALBUM MADE AND POSSIBLE LIVE OR GVH3 DVD'S
2008 ANTHOLOGY WILL FINALLY BE RELEASED WITH A VERY REAL CHANCE OF "NEW FREDDIE STUFF" WORTHY OF A RELEASE.
This is my opinion.
Thought this threads content would be revelent again now with all this talk about the October recording sessions coming to light.
Interesting to go back and read this stuff now .....enjoy!
One thing I love is that it has been years since Brian or Roger released any solo material. I can only imagine the ideas and developing material these two have accumulated over the past 6+ years and are now ready to record. It's been really nice downloading long lost Queen demos/cuts and old material that previous to the modern internet, wasn't available. But now it is finally time for some new music from the greatest guitarist and drummer of all time. Paul is a worthy voice for the task at hand.
GO QUEEN!
