I found this on a review of the video QUEEN- CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD
"But it's not often that a music video raises a lump in the throat. And in the final section of the video which deals with the recording of the final "Made in Heaven" album, it does just that, chronicling how the band worked until Mercury's failing health no longer allowed it, his final recordings in a beautifully-photographed Montreux,
and ending with some poignant words from the final recorded interview with Freddie in 1991. "
Does it exist a interview from freddie from 1991???
"You're the last person I'm talking to, so you'll probably get the best interview darling.
I don't want to change the world. To me, happiness is the most important thing and if I'm happy then ... it shows in my work.
In the end, all the mistakes and all the excuses are down on me.
I'd like to feel that I'm just being my honest self and as far as I'm concerned I just want to pack in as much of life and fun, having a good time as much as I can within the years I have.
Well there you have, you have it on tape. Use it!
Well that's the nearest I've come to a lot of passion in terms of interviews.
How much more have you got? Come on, I'm getting bored!"
Apparently this was his last interview.
This type of thread is great because it gets you thinking "well was it the last one?" etc there was a similar thread some time back going on about the last interview he gave.
I see if i can find it my searching for it, though speaking those kind of words in such a deep and meaningful way could suggest that it was from the latest early to mid 91.
Who knows.
I'm not sure if it is his last interview ever, i can't be sure of that.
I've heard the recording of it and it's just Freddie talking, i don't know what the person who was interviewing him was asking or anything like that. That's the exact quotation of what he said, that's all i know.
Its not from 1991 its from somewere like 1985, the full interview is on the Greatest video hits 2 dvd. The Editors of the programme just made it look lik eit was from 1991. Correct me if im wrong though.
Yeah. The 'final interview' is no such thing, it's merely bits edited together from different interviews.... I really wish they'd been more responsible because now everyone thinks it's his last interview or something.

Yeah i heard about that as well, although i'm not sure either.....

Yeah i agree, that would be the wrong thing to do.
Where is Serry when you need him?
I dont think Freddie would have given an interview around that time, Im still trying to find out the rumours of Elvis' last interview in 1977 filmed at graceland.
I'm here, Andy. His last audio taped interview was in 1989, video taped 1988, for the newspaper/magazine - 1988. "Last person" is from his interview for DoRo in 1984 - he meant last person (interviewer) in that day, not in the life.
Serry is absolutely right. The line "the last interview" refers to that day. I don't remember where, but I already saw that bit in its correct context.
I usually enjoy the editing of DoRo, but sometimes the cut n'paste is done in order to serve a purpose, and for that they put different bits from different eras to say something that the person never actually said.
For instance, it comes to my mind the Jim Beach interview where he says that when Freddie first came to Montreux he probably thought it was the most boring place on Earth and then for about 2 seconds Freddie appears saying: "...yeah, that's right...", and then it comes back to Jim Beach again...
:P
Going Back wrote: ok this might sound stupid but i've heard that freddie announced one day before his death that he has AIDS, how did he announced that?
Through a pre-written statement to the press. I would assume he wrote it somedays beforehand, or someone else wrote it and delivered it on his behalf, but i think Freddie had the final say on what was told to the press. Feel free to correct me, but i think thats what happened.
If there is an interview of 1991 then it isn't released yet.
Anyway, the bit "your the last person I am talking to" is indeed from 1984. All the bits of that champions of the world are from previous interviews throughout the 80's.
But it would be interesting to have an interview from 1991....
I don't think it exists, but it would be great.
What propably does exist are outtakes from the Innuendo sessions, or made in heaven sessions. There have to be....
