Hi everyone, a few questions: 1. On the Arena CD, track 13 is supposed to be Liar (according to link. On my version, it is Party. Is any one of them a mispressing then? 2. On WWRY (live), do all countries have different announcements during the song, in the local language? On mine it is all in German, so I was wondering. 3. The error on You don't fool me, mentioned on the website above, what is it? I didn't notice anything. Thanks Jan |
Daniel vZ 17.03.2006 10:18 |
1.I haven't got Party on disc 1, I'm having 2 times Liar (both 1:26) 2.I bought mine version in Holland, and the version I got is in the original language (english) 3.I didn't notice anything either |
Serry... 17.03.2006 10:25 |
1. Both times Liar. Is it instrumental version of Party on your disk? If so - then it's something unique, man! 2. English. Bought in Russia, box and booklet on Russian, the game itself is on English. 3. "A joy to listen to, but watch out for a nasty glitch at around 3:20." |
Jan78 17.03.2006 10:44 |
Thanks for the quick answers. Yes, it is indeed an instrumental of Party, the regular song, complete, but without any vocals. During WWRY, a voice is making announcements in German, because I have the German version of the game, and on the CDs, it is printed "Deutsch". Hm...I was only wondering if this is normal for other countries too. Jan |
Roger's Beard 17.03.2006 10:49 |
Yep. Checked mine and it's Liar. If Party IS an instrumental or an edited version, are you able to share it with us please? As it doesn't seem to be on anyone else's discs, it can hardly be classed as official can it....??? Thanks, David |
Jan78 17.03.2006 10:53 |
For anyone who's interested though, the announcement is: "Willkommen zur größten Show auf Erden. |

Thanks! Now I'm curious about if any other localized versions contains other rare instrumentals... |
Mr Faron Hyte 18.03.2006 00:23 |
Two thoughts - 1) what a rare and terrific thing to have turn up so many years after this game was released. I have had the UK version for eons and this is definitely not on my set. 2) This is not the best song for an instrumental version. Those first 40 monotonous seconds are pretty deadly - lol |

Thank you for posting. According to this site link the song is listed in the The eYe book, but is not on the cd. Is your (German) version a promo version of the game, or the regular version? Maybe the song is on promo versions only? Or on German versions only? Interesting! |
Jan78 18.03.2006 07:25 |
Hi Walter, I bought that game in a normal shop, normal box, normal booklet, no promo. It's just the German version, so all the characters in the game speak German too. By now only the CD-ROMs are left though. For whatever reason, I didn't care to keep the whole package. :-) Your ultimatequeen link says that both Liar versions are in the same, so I wonder if that was intended, why would you put the same two tracks on one CD? So I guess, Party was supposed to be on it but in fact isn't, right? Jan |
Wilki Amieva 18.03.2006 07:31 |
Localised versions released later might have corrected some of the errors of the original English version, namely: - The Liar reiteration (and, perhaps, also Khashoggi's Ship) - The glitch in You Don't Fool Me. |
Walter B. 18.03.2006 07:31 |
Hi Jan, Thanks for answering my question. Are there any other tracks (apart from the ones you have posted here) that seem to be not on the English version? I mean, if you see the list on the website that I posted a link to, there are several other tracks (e.g. Invisible man) that were not on the actual game/discs. (VERY appropriate signature Wilki!) |
Wilki Amieva 18.03.2006 07:45 |
I will post the Spanish voice-over version of the live We Will Rock You soon. Unfortunately I do not have that version of the game, just the English one, so I cannot go into a deep comparison. There is also a French version that I know of, and a Japanese one (with a very nice packaging). (Yeah, well...) |
Jan78 18.03.2006 07:51 |
Hi Walter, sorry, it seems that all the other songs on my version of the game are the same as on the list. But maybe someone else can say something about it, especially our guru John S. :-) By the way, I didn't intend to make this such a big deal. LOL. Jan |
Walter B. 18.03.2006 08:11 |
Hi Jan, No, no, it is in fact very interesting! It is always nice to discover things after many years! Wilki, nice idea to share the Spanish version too! I don't know if you have posted this before, but I know you are from Argentina. To my knowledge several Queen and solo releases have had edited versions of songs. Do you keep a list of those edits? And if so, could you publish this here? Thanks in advance! (by the way: I took the blue pill...) |
Wilki Amieva 18.03.2006 08:30 |
To the best of my knowledge... Brian May - Star Fleet (radio edit) 3:30 Not the same as the US one. Just an early fade-out. Only in a promo 7" sampler (along with other artists). Freddie Mercury - Love Kills (radio edit) 2:59 - I Was Born To Love You (radio edit) 3:05 - Mr. Bad Guy (radio edit) 2:58 Just earlier fades. All are exclusive from promo 7"s - the last two are in the same one! QUEEN - Good Company (album version - error) 3:15 - This is not an edit as such, but a genuine mistake. There is a defective CD pressing which omits the last couple of seconds of every track! - I Want It All (single edit) 4:00 - When EMI-Odeón could not find the master of the proper single version, they preferred to make a new one instead of delaying the single. Cassingle and 12" only. (Sorry, the site it's not up yet.) |
Walter B. 18.03.2006 08:53 |
Thanks Wilki! I happen to have the 12" single of I want it all, and when I first heard it the song indeed sounded mixed differently. Not exactly Argentinian, but if I remember correctly the Innuendo and Made in heaven albums also did have something different right? The cd version of Innuendo does include the vinyl edits of several songs and the Made in heaven album has the alternative version of Let me live? Are there any other South-American releases that have special edits or alternative versions on them? Sorry to bother you with my questions... |
Wilki Amieva 18.03.2006 09:44 |
That it is because they used the album version as a basis (which is indeed mixed differently) and they edited some parts out - quite abruptly I might add. In regard of the INNUENDO and MADE IN HEAVEN CDs, I believe that you are referring to the Mexican first pressings. Both were pressed in USA by Capitol - and that it is no coincidence. Capitol usually asks for the masters with a lot of time ahead of the pressing date, because they have a very tight schedule and they cannot afford to be delayed. Such huge advance was the reason behind the different masters used in those pressings. The CD version of INNUEDO was not even mastered when they called for it, so the production company sent what they had (in hope of a later change - I suppose) and that was the vinyl version (which was mastered earlier due to the vinyl manufacture being a little more time-consuming). Same happened with MADE IN HEAVEN - by the time the Let Me Live controversy exploded, the Capitol CDs (and the Hollywood Records advance listening promo cassettes) were made already. By the way, I noticed a very strange thing with the regular version of Let Me Live. It seems that instead of remixing the song with the banned vocals muted, they just quickly replaced some sections with others taken from an earlier mix without that vocals. Unfortunately that earlier mix was out of phase so the crossfades show. Here is the Spanish We Will Rock You, as promised: link - REMOVED And just one more thing: I am willing to swap an I Was Born To Love You/Mr. Bad Guy Argentine promo 7" for the original Mexican CD of INNUENDO. |

Hi folks... just checked my version of "The Eye". Track 13 on my Arena CD is "Party(Instrumental)" as well! Bought the game five years ago at local Woolworth store in Berlin... for 5 Euros, yes FIVE... and this bargain included two more Microsoft Games!!! Lucky me... :-) |
Wilki Amieva 18.03.2006 10:12 |
So it seems that the German version is indeed corrected. Could you please check also CD 3, THE THEATRE DOMAIN, Track 11 and CD 4, THE INNUENDO DOMAIN, Track 5? I will pass word to owners of the Spanish version and report here. |
Walter B. 18.03.2006 10:15 |
Thanks Wilki, VERY interesting read! (and I indeed meant the Mexcian releases, I forgot to write that...) PS: another question that comes to mind: is it true that there are two versions of the Tributo A Queen, Los Grandes Del Rock En Español album? A Mexican one and a Brazil one? |

Wilki, I am curious now... Why did you specifically ask for those tracks? Are there differences known as well? |
Wilki Amieva 18.03.2006 12:41 |
Jan78 tracklist is right. Thanks to both of you. I asked because the version of Khashoggi's Ship is also twice in the set, but in different CDs (which makes a lot more sense than the Liar reiteration in the same CD). Anyway, I was wondering if perhaps that, however unlikely, was also a mistake. Besides that, I can confirm now that the Spansish version also has Party (I will upload it soon in FLAC) instead of the repeated Liar and also has the corrected You Don't Fool Me. I would love to hear from owners of the French or Japanese versions. |
Walter B. 18.03.2006 13:01 |
All right Wilki, it makes sense now. Did you see my question about The tributo a Queen cd in this thread? I am also curious about the French and Japanese versions of The eYe now... |
Wilki Amieva 18.03.2006 13:04 |
There are several versions of that CD. I will post about them later. |

Looking forward to hearing your Flac Wilki - I can't access the original posting! Thanks! |

Wilki wrote: I am willing to swap an I Was Born To Love You/Mr. Bad Guy Argentine promo 7" for the original Mexican CD of INNUENDO.Oh, crap. I sold my mexican Innuendo CD about 8 years ago to a friend who doesn't really care about Queen, hehe :). Actually, I posted here when I first heard the full version of Bijou and concluded that the CD I had for many years had the vinyl edits and I never knew about it:S. I think I can get it back. Too bad, I think the booklet was lost before I sold it to him. I think that's why I sold it to my friend, so I could buy a new one later. :S I'll keep my eye open if I can catch one of those old mexican releases in my local shop. :) See ya, Wiley |

Thank you for giving such detailed information Wilki! If I remember correctly I read in a fanclubmagazine (around 1997) that a cover by Zucchero (Las Palabras De Amor) was rumoured to feature Brian. It did not appear on any Tributo album though... Unfortunately I missed your upload, but I understand why you removed the link. |
cmi 22.03.2006 03:50 |
It's a discovery of the week! :) Does anyone can send Party (instrumental) in FLAC on my E-mail address (cmi80@mail.ru)? Please. |
Wilki Amieva 23.03.2006 20:10 |
I remembered the name of the Chilean soap-opera: Tic-Tac. By the way, Zucchero's cover for this tribute was supposed to be One Year Of Love ...featuring Brian on guitar instead of the sax solos - that was the rumour then. Anyway, that rendition remains unreleased. There are a lot of unreleased tracks from this project. I think that all are detailed in John's list of QUEEN covers. |
Walter B. 24.03.2006 02:01 |
You are right Wilki, I mixed Zucchero's songs up. He played Las palabras de amor at the FM Tribute. I searched John's covers and Ultimate Collection 1997 posts but I could not find any other unreleased tracks for this project than the ones that I already knew: Fobia: Don't Stop Me Now Heroes Del Silencio: I Want It All Jaguaras: Under Pressure La Lupita: Dragon Attack Fito Paez: You're My Best Friend Antonio Vega: Love Of My Life Maldita Vecinidad: I Want To Break Free Zucchero: One Year Of Love Maybe you could shine your light on this? Are there more tracks? Thanks in advance. |

I have to check some newspapers, but from memory there is only one missing: Flash - OS PARALAMAS DO SUCESSO |

I've just managed to get a copy of The Eye game (UK version) and also have the accompanying book "The Art of Queen The Eye" - has anyone else noticed that the tracklisting for the discs given in the book hugely varies from the tracklisting given in the leaflet that comes with the game (which in itsef has been proved here is incorrect as to what is actally on the discs)? Seems like they got the artwork all printed before actually finishing the mixes, and then realised either that the tracks they had intended didn't suit the game, didn't sound right, or they had misplaced the master tapes? |
