I'm re-considering going to Vancouver to see the last Queen and Paul Rodgers concert there, since Toronto didn't work out for me as far as planning and finances went. But my stepmom doesn't feel comfortable with me going alone to and walking around in a city apparently more dangerous than the one I live in, so I wanted to ask you guys if there are any (known) planned Queen fan / concert attendee meetings happening on the night of the show or not? Any help or info would be very much appreciated! (And I'm planning on staying at a youth hostel about 6-7km west of the venue, so I'm not necessarily worried about having a place to stay) |
Garden Lodge 14.03.2006 16:59 |
I can pretty much pick you up from wherever you're staying and drop you off later on....no problem. And just in case: I have 2 spare tickets for row 22 (floor) which I'm selling BELOW face value if you don't have. Got 'em for $268 CAD and I'm giving them for $200 CAD (the pair) Let me know... |
inu-liger 14.03.2006 21:38 |
I only need one ticket, so would $100 sound OK for one ticket? (I'm potentially running on a limited budget as it is, as I think I was only going to get the $65 seat - if we could work out something, let me know. I'll have a better idea tomorrow when I figure out some minor financial budgets for food et al, of what money I can get together for the trip before I make a final decision) And if possible, can you scan the ticket(s) and e-mail it to me at inuyasha at queenzone dotto com ? Please and thanks if you can. (Hope you don't mind me asking, but I just like to be safely assured, not that I'm doubting you have the tickets, know what I mean?) |
Garden Lodge 14.03.2006 22:22 |
No problem..... Let me scan it and I'l email it to you |

Dark, I'd say Vancouver was a pretty safe city and cities go, doesn't anybody else in your family want to go? This could be your last chance to see them, ever... Actually, no, probably not I reckon after the tour then the album then promotion then another tour, so maybe in 2008 they will be back! |

Garden Lodge: I sent you a new reply tonight! I don't know if you got my e-mail yesterday or not, but I just sent you a new one with a new update just now. Turns out I will most likely be able to afford this trip after all, thanks to my mom. |

Togg wrote: Dark, I'd say Vancouver was a pretty safe city and cities go, doesn't anybody else in your family want to go?Funny you should ask that; my Dad said he would only see them if Freddie was still alive (which he did back in 1976(!), when they played Ottawa), which otherwise means neither he or my stepmom consider this incarnation of Queen "the real thing" (I say otherwise). This could be your last chance to see them, ever... Actually, no, probably not I reckon after the tour then the album then promotion then another tour, so maybe in 2008 they will be back!Who knows. But I'd rather not take a gamble this way... After all, I remember all too well Bob the Shrek's story about how he passed up an opportunity to see Queen live at Wembley Stadium back in 1986, figuring he could go see them "next time they toured" (and we all know how that turned out)... Know what I mean? |

-UPDATE- Garden Lodge, even though I already just e-mailed you, I can't thank you enough for that ticket! Very speedy service too! If you guys are looking for a great ticket for the Vancouver show, I can attest that Garden Lodge is the real deal! I've now got a ticket for Row 22 Seat 11 (or otherwise, a floor seat!), thanks to him! I cannot believe how well our transaction went! And it only cost me EXACTLY $100! :D Very pleasant guy to deal with! (Shame this isn't eBay, cos I'd give him an A+++ rating :D ) I believe he still has a ticket for Row 22 Seat 12 leftover, so be sure to contact him if interested! (I'd actually like it if someone from Queenzone would come and enjoy the show with me, to be honest!) |

Save a LOT of money that way. If you want, I can also point out the hostel I'm staying at, whose rate is $29 CDN per night. |

Now that I've bought the concert and bus tickets for this concert/trip, I'm just curious: Has anyone else here ALSO decided to go to the Vancouver concert? ED: For those of us here that ARE going (I know Brandon is for sure going), we should organize a fan meeting at a bar, or McDonald's or something, near the venue before the show! (Not that I can afford to buy a whole lotta people lunch, lol! My budget's tight enough as it is! :D ) (I'm seriously thinking of bringing and wearing my Pikachu earmuffs just so people have an obvious way of figuring out who I am :P ) |
Brandon 28.03.2006 20:33 |
Dark, where are you staying? I found a place for like $10 Canadian per night. Also, ifthe other ticket is available, I'd be interested... |
inu-liger 28.03.2006 20:44 |
I'm staying at a youth hostel (e-mail me for info), for $29 a night. Already booked it as well online. Where are you staying btw. that's THAT cheap?? (I'd be worried if I were you) ED: E-mail me, and I'll pass on your interests in the ticket to Garden Lodge. I'm sure he has the other ticket still, for $100 as well! |
Brandon 28.03.2006 20:45 |
Well, I'm making a small vacation of it, so a cheaper alternative is a muct fo me. But, we can still hang out a bit before and after the concert. |
inu-liger 28.03.2006 20:53 |
True. And yes, again I'd very much like to meet at least before the concert! (Dunno about after, unless you wanna join me in trying to wait outside wherever to try and get photos with or autographs from Brian and the guys) |
Brandon 28.03.2006 20:55 |
No... I'd never think of doing that... Dude, I am going to the venue early as well. Standard practice, my man. Standard practice. It;s the way I met Keane and the Kaiser Chiefs. |
inu-liger 29.03.2006 11:45 |
Ah! Perhaps I should join you in doing that! (I WAS going to go to the venue early anyways, so that I could be one of the first in line, so that way I could be able to run up to the gates separating the fans from the stage at the concert, if I could) |
inu-liger 30.03.2006 21:42 |
Soooo.....anyone else going, or is that it? |

Anyone bringing their video/photo cameras to this show by the way? (Or an audio recorder?) I'm bringing my 35mm photocamera to the show, since I'm probably going to have some very nice views of the stage from where I am. |

I am sneaking in my camcorder at the PNE - have good seats on the floor row 22...hope to get away with it. Anyone gonna hang around the colliseum the day of the show? I heard the band will be coming in at around 1pm. |
jasen101 07.04.2006 22:54 |
Just a word of caution to anyone not familiar with Vancouver - the area around the Pacific Coliseum is not the safest...be a little careful after dark espcially on East Hastings street - it's been known to be a druggie area. A friend of mine was mugged there a couple weeks ago. |
